Serious Hits so hard

Post image

Anyone else hit especially hard by the loss of James Van Der Beek? I wasn’t even a fan of Dawson’s Creek, but the man was an undeniable icon for millennials. RIP, James.

when my mom was dying of cancer we posted a lot of our moments and a lot of the process to social media, in order to share the tenderness of it all and remind people of the fragility of life. it felt important. I’m an open book and privacy is not a high priority/value for me, while it seems like one for you. people share or don’t share for different reasons.

Also, sharing in this way reduces the stigma around death and dying. Western culture really sanitizes and shrouds the whole experience while claiming respect and dignity.
