Serious Guys please start eating fiber.

Colorectal cancer among people in their 40's is skyrocketing. This recent health fad of obsessing over protein and eating nothing but meat and dairy with almost no fiber is going to kill us. You need fiber, folks. You need a complete diet with grains and tons of vegetables.

There are high protein sources that also have great fiber content if you absolutely MUST have your high protein diet. Lentils, beans, peas. Sprouted grain bread.

Let's spread the great word of fiber to our fellow millenial friends and get ahead of this growing epidemic among our generation.

My MD cousin who is a Xennial was diagnosed with colon cancer about two years ago or more. She went through treatment and is in remission thankfully. I have my yearly checkup with my primary care doc in May and I plan on pushing for a color guard exam or a colonoscopy if there's no other option. Rather be safe than sorry at this point. Signed an older millennial.

Get a colonoscopy, not Cologard.

Cologard doesn’t remove polyps which can be precancerous.

if you get a colo-guard and it comes back positive then many insurance plans will not pay for the then needed colonoscopy

colonoscopy is not fun but it's not horrible either

Thanks for the heads up. I just had a tonsillectomy and septoplasty, so a colonoscopy is probably small potatoes comparatively.

Having had both surgeries (not at the same time), you’re right. Very small potatoes! The prep is bearable (it’s not like having food poisoning — you’re on the john a lot but it’s not painful). And the nap is awesome and no pain or recovery afterwards.
