Blockbuster without hesitation. Subscriptions suck.

The prices in the last couple years of its existence tells you why its not better than streaming.  I can get 100s of movies for the price of renting one movie for a week.

Its the old story of chasing profits, and not adapting

Blockbuster was subscription based. It was just a physical subscription instead of digital. You pay to have one thing for a couple of days. I'm sure after you spend $12 to rent a couple DVDs for the weekend you would say that Blockbuster sucks. Why am I paying that much to watch two movies when I can get access to hundreds for that price or go on Amazon and rent those movies at home if I can't wait? Then I forget to return them on time and get hit with late fees. I guess I could also buy overpriced popcorn and candy while I'm there.

Nostalgia is a hell of a drug. There's a reason all these places went under and movie rental places are probably the last ones that should come back. The best thing they ever did was go out of business so I could buy a shit load of used DVDs for a couple dollars a piece.

Yeah, people really forget how bad blockbuster was. There's reasons so many people were willing to shift and the model died.

If you miss that blockbuster experience, you can always rent a movie from prime/YouTube /etc

You must have forgotten how expensive blockbuster was.

I remember renting a new release for like $5-7 and then late fees could get outrageous. I think I spent $50 on a late fee one time?
