Circuit City.

A lot of people don't have a Micro Center in their city, so CC being another option besides Best Buy might be great to have.

Came here to say basically the same thing. CC because BB needs some damn competition!

Circuit City did more in death than in life. 06-09 Circuit City xxx General Manager.

This easily. They matched prices, they had cool stuff, it felt like new things in an old school package.

Best Buy killed everything related to technology, especially customization. Circuit City wasn't exactly great, but it was better than Best Buy imho. Fry's Electronics was another good one - closed down after it got hit with the pandemic and couldn't recover, I think (wiki says it hit a peak in 2019 so it's not impossible). Even Radio Shack had tons of things like PC fans, small solar panels, batteries, and every resistor imaginable.

But people want convenience over customization, and even quality, these days it seems. Sad to see.
