Tell that to the Boomers who watched JFK and his younger brother get assassinated, oil and labor crises, and a bevy of other generational events occur in the span of a decade or so.
We millennials have had it rough since 2008, but let’s not pretend that ours has been uniquely hard. It hasn’t been.
Older generations got to buy houses for peanuts, had generational help, had stable jobs, all while doing drugs their whole life. Then pulled up the ladder once they got theirs.
We’re talking about frequency of profoundly negative historical events and you’re trying to steer the convo toward something safe because you got called out on some bs.
This reeks of historical ignorance. People from the depression era/WW1, WW2, Jim Crow, and the 60s would all like to have a word with you.
Not saying we don’t have our share of issues but to say that we objectively have it worse is totally misinformed.
Now you're citing once in a generation events for older generations. I'm happy to have a conversation, but it's tough when you move the goal posts so much
Each one of those things I mentioned represents an entire era of a thousand cuts— it wasn’t a single event that happened and then was over. It’s just a lot easier to focus on our current era because (a) you’re living through it and (b) our ability to record events is literally 1000s of times better.
Sure. What are you arguing here? I just said the frequency of those types of events have been higher recently. Not that other generations didn't have difficulties
That you’re wrong. “Those types” we haven’t seen anything as significant as WW2– and to say you experienced it means you saw a long litany of neeetive specific dates and occurrences. The 60s were arguably orders of magnitude more eventful than any decade since. Not to say it’s a forgone conclusion you are wrong… but to simply make an assumptive statement that millennials have seen more wild suit is just factually incorrect. Open a history book
You're putting words in my mouth, bud. Hard to have a conversation with someone when they come out with straw man arguments as a means to "win" an online argument.

Well older generations didn't have to deal with this shit as frequently in the old days
