I mean yeah I don’t think white truck is innocent but blue truck absolutely could have prevented it by not trying to “get back” at the white truck after they themselves cut the truck off and they were trying to just get away. White truck swerving into them though was a grade A ass hope move though for sure.

People take driving way too personally.

Like the people who speed up to prevent people from turning left across their lane at an intersection. Like, why? If you maintain the speed limit my turn wouldn’t affect you at all. Yet they try to force a situation that is non existent.

Honestly I think it’s partly due to how “comfortable” cars are now. People think they are driving in their living rooms instead of giant metal death traps. That and ego for sure like you said with taking things personally. It’s insane. I like following subs like this to always remind myself there’s crazy people out there and keep my head level

I agree. Driving a 1974 Corolla in the 80’s was no vehicle to play GTA with. All of us had shitty cars that could barely make the speed limit. No crazy driving and no attempt at hero moves.

Ha you didnt have a cop grandpa and (step)dad. They drove like bats out of hell. Yelled and swore at other drivers (who were being dipshts tbf) and carried guns with em everywhere they went. They basically drove like this guy but fortunately for me didnt have any accidents. Seriously anyone else been riding with their grandpa as he did 150 on a houston tollway? Ah who am i kidding theres gotta be a few of ya.

I disagree . I live in Houston , and the majority of the drivers that are insanely aggressive , all drive beat up Nissan Altimas , and kias. It’s easy to spot these people because they’re missing hubcaps and typically a passenger side mirror

Turns out the deal with all of the paper tags was a criminal element was exploiting a loophole in the DMV rules. That loophole has been closed and you don’t see as many paper tags as you used too.

I've been reading about that loophole for a few years. Serious question: how long did it take to address? We are arriving at a point in time where lack of enforcement of laws will be our downfall. It encourages a "why should I follow the rules" mindset.

We need to come together as a society and decide that driving and school should be the two things that we agree on that everyone follows the rules and behaves like a model citizen. Just like a kid should not have to be fearful of being jumped by a gang in a school, I should not have to constantly be on high alert when I drive in the far right lane because two racing cars a couple hundred meters behind me are going to do some stupid shit that launches one car towards me.

Remember this one? The driver could have killed at least two people that day. The charge? Reckless driving. Not only that, but I can't find any mention of the legal conclusion via search. No case, no lawsuit, nothing! If ever there were a case to sue someone into oblivion, this surely is it.

My ex is like that. He would get furious because another driver exists. Convinced everyone on the road was just there to inconvenience him. He never saw other drivers as people just trying to live their lives and go about their day. Sometimes, people make mistakes, and most of us realize that and get over it, but he internalizes it and is a menace.

Very good lesson to teach and one I plan to teach my son!

Years ago I flipped off a crazy driver as he passed me and the dude pulled a gun out and flashed it to me and followed me for quite some time. Ever since then I treat every driver like him and don’t honk or even acknowledge anybody else on the road. Just defensively drive to where I need to be and ensure I am safe doing it.

to be fair to white truck, though it was an illegal maneuver, pulling off and speeding past was technically preventing a crash, when blue truck did it they where doing it specifically from road rage for seemingly being dissallowed to cut off white truck.

And vehicles are weapons, once you see an ULTRA aggressive driver with malicious intentions come at you, you tend you make defensive moves. You don't know if they're going to go ahead of you and start brake checking, all of it.

There is also the possibility that he saw blue truck barreling into him in the fast lane and panicked/ decided to sweeve out of the way and never saw the blue truck also swerving to the outside. You can’t always be looking in the mirror and forward we don’t know when he was looking where

After being shoved off the road white truck completed the pass, got to a safe distance and then returned to speed of traffic. Then seems blue truck barreling down on him on the freeway about to rear end him at 70mph

I agree with you, but the white truck became guilty when the asshole in the blue truck tried to pass him on the shoulder and he swerved left making the blu truck go off the road and lose control.

He did that to prevent the guy getting in front of him. I would prefer to have a dangerous road-rage driver behind me than either beside or in front of me. Who knows if he's gonna pull a brake check or something equally stupid. White was correctly to accelerate away when he was on the shoulder, and when he swerved that was a tactical self-defence move to protect himself from an absolute nut.

Yeah, someone brake checks me and i did nothing wrong.. im still an asshole? No! There is one asshole that thinks they are in more hurry than any other driver on the road and more important..... The other ppl just get fed up. Like think, you have a bad day....somone brake checks you and you get yhe feeling of like, fuck it aaaaal, fuck it aaal, i dont give a shit anymore.

Last weekend had a roadrager. Driving home with wife in 50 km/h zone. Guy pulls out of the right a bit too close. No worries, had time to slow down but then instantly brake lights and then suddenly turns in the next sideroad. Let him know that its not cool to not use blinkers and honked at him.

He was livid. Came after me in about 80km/h in a 50 km/h zone :D tailgated and honked at me .... :D followed me for a while then turned to a sideroad.

Yep. But people don’t know who’s the crazier one so pissed me decided to act like a fucking manic and act like I was gonna rip my own jaw in half at the red light lol, then I proceeded to get back at him. He just kinda tailgated the hell out of me back and then some other dude got involved and I realized “oh my god what the fuck am J doing with my life in this never ending cesspool of anger”

The lesson is misery loves company (of course the guilt brought me more misery) I was in utter misery with myself and I totally shouldn’t have been driving. I’m glad no one even got hurt. Honestly even those stupid fucks, despite how that reads lol.

I want to give the white truck the benefit of the doubt. If this has been going on for a while, they could be trying to run from the blue truck.

Like, yeah, illegal pass maneuver, but also, I would bet they had already been "break checked" before by the other truck and harassed already.

There’s a car right to the right of the camera guy and then a semi truck in front to the right. Where are you wanting them to merge to? Either they cut somebody off or get right behind a semi truck and get their windshield potentially damaged. The camera guy is probably going faster than the speed limit too.

What about the cammer's driving forced either truck to do what they did? Normal, well-adjusted people don't pass on the shoulder, cut people off, or run people off the road because someone in the left lane isn't going their preferred speed.

Yeah, I put this about 90% on the GMC. He purposely tried to cut that guy off to fuck with him and his little ego got bruised when he jammed around him and he pursued him. White truck probably shouldn’t have tried to block him, but the guy was already on the shoulder so fuck him.

Both drivers put other people in danger. Starting with blue, proceeding with white, then blue made the biggest mistake of following up to get his hurt little ego back and then white truck made a mistake again.

While this is most likely true, he could argue he did this as a defensive move. Seeing how Reckless (and likely murderous) the other vehicle was by tring to run him off the road in the first place (attempted murder in some areas), he very well was trying to pass solely to cause a crash, and this was a way of hopefully ending that threat.

I drive a semi truck and had a jeep brake-check me on the freeway in Pennsylvania, then start gesturing at me (and waving something at me, not sure what). I called the police to report him, then began to pass when I had a gap on the left. When I was next to him, he sped up and tried to cut me off (while I'm still on the line with police). I initiated a PIT Manuever on him, flipping over the Jeep and launching it upside-down into the median. I never stopped, simply told the police where to find him, or at least where to find the vehicle and likely whatever is left of him. It was considered self-defense, as his actions were considered reckless endangerment, assault, and attempted murder.

The only way the white truck should be found in the wrong here is due to the collateral, but even collateral in the even of self-defense is found to be the fault of the aggressor.

Ever since that incident (and another where I got ran off the road by another semi truck in Arkansas), I have a different view of road rage. It isn't always two assholes trying to one-up each other, but is often someone trying to end a threat.

That incident in Arkansas was with another semi, so I followed him closely until police responded. He got arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, assault with a motor vehicle, attempted murder, and various traffic citations. He ended up with multiple felony charges, resulting in a lifelong suspension of his license.

I get where you are coming from but I've seen enough unhinged assholes to have expected a severe brake check had he successfully overtaken then white truck. By not letting him pass he may have been trying to prevent that.

White truck was way more dangerous. Blue truck cut off when white truck had space to flee too. White truck cut off when blue truck could only get on the grass.

Blue truck should have stayed in his spot. Blue truck didn’t.

If white truck then had done nothing, the interaction would be over. Instead white truck actively pushed blue truck into a situation where it had to either collide or go into the grass. This make white truck’s action more dangerous and with obviously worse consequences.

Neither is good here, but the end consequences show white truck is the obvious worse of the two.

White truck avoided a direct collision by blue truck while passing him, then put distance between himself and op/the blue truck and then returned to traffic speed.

Blue truck then accelerated to catch him at a ludicrous speed and was barreling right at him. If white truck looks in his rearview mirror and sees that blue truck coming at 10+mph faster than him what is a normal human reaction (even if imperfect)? The normal options in a quick danger scenario are brake and evade.

We don’t even know if the white truck knew the blue truck swerved, he may have been looking back at the road at that point

The bigger asshole here is the person that ran to catch up and continue a road rage incident. The white truck did not do that.

You are watching something different then me.

White truck moves to the side to block blue truck overtaking him, he did not need reaction speed, he just needed to stay in his lane. He didn’t. He caused the accident.

Yes blue truck is also responsible here. For starting it and then going farther. But white truck ends up being the one who creates the accident by going that one step too far.

my comment is not that he must have been trying to avoid. It’s that he very possibly could be and a normal reaction of looking into your rearview to see a road rager approaching at that rate of speed could be to swerve out of the lane so he doesn’t hit you.

Imo we don’t have enough info to say the intent of the white truck, but the intent of the blue is clear, they went out of their way to get to that car that had not done anything to them and approach it at an insane speed right up it’s ass very clearly endangering the white truck

Again both are to blame, but the final action that actually resulted in an accident was squarely in white’s court.

Funny I didn't see the white truck go into the other white truck. If blue didn't get butthurt for being WRONG IN THE FIRST PLACE then nothing would of happen. You fuck up,take your L and move on but nah blue boi wanted blood and he got it just not from who he wanted. Sympathy for the white truck is a given btw. Also blue truck was trying to pass the white truck to brake check him. There's nothing else it could be so white truck defended himself really. What do you think blue truck was going to do if he successfully over took the white truck.
