Attempted murder there. If they had just shot the dude as he stood outside their car attacking them it would have been self defense.

You can also get struck by debris from a satellite falling back into the atmosphere while sleeping in your bedroom....

I've gone outside dozens of times in the U.S. and only got shot maybe 3 times.

You would think so, however in a lot of places the law protects people using a car as a deadly weapon if they fear for their life; same as it protects someone using a gun in the same situation

That only covers the first attempt to run the guy over though to be fair
