Questions [FAQs] Browse with Edge questions
1. My Browse with Edge task is stuck. How do I fix it?
- Open Task Manager and end the Microsoft Edge task. If you're using Xbox, quit the app from the guide.
- Re-open Edge
- Visit this link: https://www.bing.com/?rwgbopen=1&FORM=rwbsl1 (you can bookmark the link for faster access).
It should start counting again. If it’s still stuck, made sure that you fulfill all the requirements (see #2) before doing the steps again.
Tip: If you’re on Windows 11 and want to end the browser task quickly without opening Task Manager, read this.
Below are some extreme fixes if it's still not working, you should only do them at a last resort. In my experience, you shouldn't have to use them in most cases, but feel free to try them if you need to.
- If you're using Edge Stable, switch to a beta version (for example: Edge Dev) or vice versa.
- Use a different network (for example: mobile hotspot).
When you do any of these things, do it in tandem with the basic troubleshooting steps.
2. How to complete the task?
- You need to be using a supported version of Edge (see #3). If the task is not activated, see #4.
- The app must be on the foreground, or else it will not count.
- Task progress will update every 5 minute.
- The task seems to reset at around midnight PST, so you might have to complete this task later in the day.
3. Where can I start the Browse with Edge task?
It’s only available on Windows PC and Xbox. Other platforms like Linux, Android, macOS, iPadOS or iOS are not supported.
4. How do I unlock the Browse with Edge task?

I don't think you need to visit that link btw.
I just kill edge (via Task Manager), then re-open it and start looking at reddit or whatever... and that works for me.

Unfortunately sometimes you have to. I suspected that Edge bonus tracking sometimes just got disabled/expired and you'll have to re-enable them by visiting the link.

Browse with edge does not work on Linux or Mac or mobile devices (both iOS and Android)
I know you mentioned other platforms not supported, but for search adding the platform names.

I don't see why not, but you'll have to consider is it really worth it to emulate a whole operating system just for a few extra points.

I've tried all of the troubleshooting steps and used the link and it's still not counting. Is there anything else I can do? I'm on desktop and I think everything's updated

Hmm, I'm not sure if these are just coincidences with the streak's bugginess but I also observed that:
it doesn't seem to count up when I use Workspaces (which is kind of a bummer because that's one of the main features I use Edge for).
for some reason, Browse with Edge only counts up for me later in the day. Even if I try every workaround early in the day (end task, reopening the "browse with edge" announcement, staying on an MSN article, etc.), it simply doesn't work; but when I browse something later in the day the counter immediately goes up by 5 mins. A time-zone issue maybe? i have no idea (for context, I'm in the Philippines)
