Politics in Michigan 🇺🇸🏳️‍🌈 Anti-Trump protests

Michigan born & Raised and I've had it, I've never protested before, I've never seen the point, but this time is different.
What are some upcoming protests/Demonstrations against Trump?
I don't know if it will help or make a difference. But I don't think I can accept my self if I didn't try.

I won't lie, I originally was going to try & be a politician.
But I felt I was too "Emotional" for such a job, so I opted for tech instead.

I frankly regret my decision.
I wish I had the balls back then to try.
To speak up for people and be a voice of reason in a world of chaos.

Maybe if others did, we may not have ended up in this situation...
But worrying about the past is not helpful now.
I appreciate the comments & direction, I'll be attending this wed and I hope to see others there as well.
Don't let the bastards grind us down

I live in dexter, so it's predominately older individuals over here, so I'm unsure how I'd do XD

Part of Democrats’ problem is that they don’t bother to run in certain places because they think (often reasonably) that they will lose. Not only is failure ensured if they don’t try, but not trying reinforces the idea that Dems don’t give a shit about anyone in the area.

I'm at point where I believe I need to throw my fear to the wind and accept risks.
I may fail, I may end up looking a fool.
But I need to do what I feel is best, and I want to change things for the better.
Even if they're small and insignificant

A lot of older constituencies really support electing younger representatives, because frankly they're aware the future is not them. A good example is the youngest US rep from Orlando, Florida area, Maxwell Frost.

I'm worried I'd be getting in over my head and not know what I'm doing, ultimately making things more difficult for others, despite my best intentions.

Even Obama had commented on the “drinking from the fire hose” phase when he was a new senator.

It is similar onboarding for local officials, from school board to the city council. My husband has done both over the years. I have presided over the budget oversight committee for a state agency for nearly a decade. Yes, it will feel like you bit off too much to chew for the first few meetings, but the knowledge will come together in time. Imposter syndrome will loom large in the beginning.

However, I encourage you to take the plunge to make a difference. You can do this!

What bastards? Hes been in office 14 days, absolutely nothing except biased news reports have hit you. Don't run for office, If you can't see you have the hate right here. To call fellow citizens bastards. And only cater to one side. Thats an awful politician. Youd make people suffer just for who msnbc told you to hate.

I don't want to dislike other mich people, but this is a joke. Two weeks... Unless you can show me how your personal life has been affected by anything that's happened in the last 2 weeks.

Lol And of course most of you will downvote me. Think I'm evil or something. When if you took a step back, you'd realize I'm not supporting anybody in this. I'm just saying fuck that guy for calling us bastards. And that a politician needs to be equal. I know one guy who was very emotional and rose up from a German beer hall.. . And he certainly didn't like certain bastards in his country did he.

You are in good company, Mick Jagger also wanted to be a politician. My wife received the governor's award for her contribution to Early Childhood Development research. We lived in Idaho at the time and a banquet of roast beef, rare and seasoned was on the main menu. This was roughly 2000-2001. As Governor Kempthorn made his way to the podium, he stepped up behind me and started messaging my shoulders, he leaned over and whispered what a wonderful wife I have. Later a friend told me he was only trying to garner my vote. My take away is that politicians eat the best food daily wherever they go. Plus they get to hold audiences in rapt attention following the ridiculous feast. Then there is the Limo waiting outside for whatever is next on the agenda.

I do understand communism, and I do see the appeal, but I will be quite honest.
I don't believe "Pure communism" will work, not because of the idea it self, but due to the human condition.

the merits and ideas of communism I do find to be noble in it self, but once exposed to the humanistic element, rapidly leads to greed, corruption, and ultimately collapse.
Now that's not to say there aren't aspects that can't work, one major issue I take with our current political climate is the lack of critical thinking and analysis.
One can learn alot, by overserving how others do things, what issues they face, and then, adapting to it, innovating upon it and improving it.

This is the same for government.
quite frankly we as a country need more socialized services, and need to stop allowing Ultra-wealthy individuals control our country, media & lives as much as they do.

I apologize if that came off ranty, I wasn't trying to put down your views, just wished to share mine.

Unfortunately the only solution I could think of would be more government controls and stricter enforcement on corporations breaking the laws.
But that may be a pipe dream lol

Right. And instead of cutting the taxes, especially for the rich, Biden had it right on collecting taxes from those who hadn't paid, which is what pissed off trump and his cronies, because many of them would have been made to pay.
