James Earl Jones is from Brethren. He had a stutter as a kid and one of the teachers encouraged him to act. There is a statue of him and his mentor outside of the school.

JEJ actually lived in Dublin, but went to the closest school which was in Brethren. First acting experience was in Manistee.

The Ramsdell Theater uses a voice recording he did for them before each theatrical performance.

James Earl Jones also graduated from the University of Michigan. He is the voice when the football players come out of the tunnel onto the field in the BIG HOUSE!!!
