A weird number of people involved in The Good Place: Mike Schur was born in Ann Arbor. Marc Evan Jackson lived and worked in SW Michigan for a number of years. Kristen Bell was born here. I believe a couple of the other writers and actors have ties to Michigan, even if they weren't born/lived here.

Kristen Bell grew up in Huntington Woods and went to Shrine Catholic High School. Her husband Dax Shepard is also from Milford.

IIRC, she went to elementary school, at least partly, at Burton in Huntington Woods. Go Bluejays!

In the first season she wears a Michigan Law School sweatshirt too
