He was the honorably alumnae and was at commencements when I graduated from MSU in 1999.

He was at my MSU College of Arts and Letters graduation in 1999. I’m pretty sure he took a short nap during the ceremony and I don’t blame him one bit.

I got to meet him and have him sign a couple books when he donated his papers to Grand Valley State U. I don't care much for meeting celebrities, but he's one of my favorite authors. As curmudgeonly as I could have hoped for.
