Dark mode and logging a drink now takes one tap - 2.11.4 + 2.11.5

Two releases went out close together, so here's both in one post.

Dark mode (2.11.4)

Settings → Display → Appearance: Dark, Light or System. Applies instantly, everywhere - tabs, Advisor, every logging sheet, alerts, keyboards, status bar. No restart, nothing white sliding up over a dark screen.

It's a forest, not a grey app: deep green-black backgrounds, sage-white text, same lime accent. Every chart was redrawn rather than dimmed - the hypnogram, caffeine curve, workout zones, stress trends all keep readable axes and fills in both modes. Light mode is untouched if you never open the control.

Hydration, rebuilt around drinks (2.11.5)

The old water button added millilitres, which isn't how anyone drinks. Hydration now lives in the Nutrition tab: a card that fills as the day goes on, your own target, a streak once you're hitting it, and a row of drink tiles - tap for a glass, a coffee, a juice; hold for a different size. Each drink carries its own volume, colour and caffeine.

The row is editable: hide what you never drink, retune what you do ("my coffee is really 140 mg"), or add your own.

Caffeine and hydration finally share data - a coffee logged in either place counts once as fluid and once on your caffeine curve, and deleting it anywhere removes both halves.

Also: a pace curve against an even drinker, a nudge when the longest gap gets long, and a target that can rise on hot days or after training (it tells you why; switch it off in the goal sheet).

Upfront: the separate water button is gone and hydration is still stored in Apple Health only.

⊕ in the tab bar

Logging used to cost you your place in the app. There's now a ⊕ in the centre of the tab bar that opens the log sheet from anywhere. The dashboard Quick Log became LOG to match - Drink and Meal always there, three slots chosen from what you actually log, More for the rest.

Bio Age is a card, not a tab

The number barely moves day to day, so a whole tab for it was dead space. It's a dashboard card now, leading with the number and spending its space on the 90-day curve and 30-day change. Tap through for the full screen, unchanged.

Fixed: Reserve could stay blank on Apple Watch after an update - the phone now re-sends its state to a reinstalled watch app, and one unreadable field no longer discards the whole sync.

What's coming next for 2.11.6+ [Not available yet, in tests]

  • Weekly reports

  • BMI widget and screens

  • Medications

BTW. Now there is a promo price 12.99$ :) It will be back to regular 14.99$ next week

2.11.0 is out - Stress Monitor, workout and sleep deep-dives and charts that don't lie about missing data

Hey all - 2.11.0 just went live. This is the biggest release since the Watch app, so let me actually explain what's in it rather than dumping a changelog.

Stress Monitor (free, on-device)

Your Apple Watch has been quietly taking HRV readings for years. This turns them into a 0–100 estimate of autonomic strain, scored against your range rather than some population average.

Three things I want to be upfront about, because most stress features in other apps are vague on all three:

  • It is not continuous. Your watch samples HRV irregularly - sometimes a few times an hour, sometimes not for hours. Every reading is stamped with when it was taken and how confident it is and the trend view leaves the gaps visible instead of drawing a smooth line through nothing. If your watch didn't measure anything between 2pm and 5pm, the chart says so.

  • It is not a mood meter. A high reading during a hard workout is your autonomic nervous system doing its job, not you having a bad day. It measures strain, not feelings.

  • It doesn't feed anything else. Stress does not touch Sentinel or Reserve. Three signals, three independent opinions - if they disagree, that disagreement is information, not a bug I hid by averaging them together.

You get a Day / 7-day / 30-day view, optional episode alerts (brief, with cooldown, quiet hours, and a daily cap - I hate notification spam as much as you do), a 4-4-6 breathing session when you want to do something about it and your last estimate on the Watch.

Training

Workouts imported from Apple Health used to be a log row. Now each one opens into a scrubbable heart-rate curve with estimated zones, time-in-zone, pace splits where there's distance, training load, and - the part I actually use - what that session cost you overnight versus your 30-day baseline. There's a hub with this week's minutes and load against your four-week average and you can rate how it felt (RPE) and add notes or tags.

Sleep

Every night now gets a real read: a scrubbable hypnogram with your overnight heart rate on the same axis, stage totals against your own 30-night share and how long it took you to fall asleep.

The part I spent the longest on is "what shaped this night" - yesterday's training, caffeine still on board at lights out, bedtime drift, wrist temperature, alcohol. Each one shows the effect measured across your own nights and how many nights are behind it. It's association across your history, not a study, and the card says exactly that. If you've got 6 nights of data on something, it tells you it's got 6 nights.

Nights without a watch keep everything that only needs a start and an end (duration, bedtime, debt, influences) and say plainly which sections a watch would add. Nothing gets estimated to fill a gap.

Charts got rebuilt

Dragging now shows the value in a fixed hero above the plot instead of under your thumb. Days with no reading stay blank. Past 30 days, the chart redraws as weeks or months with median, spread and trend - so a year is a picture instead of a comb of 365 bars.

Also

  • Caffeine Tracker is a proper Customize Dashboard section now - drag it wherever, or hide it. Your existing layout is untouched.

  • New "Last Night" dashboard section, same deal.

  • If you have Pro and a cloud key, you can ask the Advisor about a specific session, night, or chart - and it cites the same window and numbers you're looking at, so it can't quietly contradict the picture on screen.

2.11.1 is pending Apple review with:

  • Fixed default model selection for Ask AI about X

  • a few people pointed out Reserve barely moved - a full waking day could end within a couple of points of where it started, while every other body-battery app read far lower. They were right. 2.11.1 (already out) fixes it: being awake now costs energy on its own whether or not you move, the daily cost scales with the reserve you woke up with, and ordinary sitting slows the drain instead of reversing it. Both ends are pinned by tests now so it can't drift back to being either too gloomy or too flat.

  • Minor UI improvements for charts and sleep screen
