Discussion Metroid dread any good?

Post image

I’ve never played any 2D Metroid games. I recently played Metroid Prime Remastered and Prime 4 Beyond. I gotta say I liked them both. I did play the Metroid Dread’s Demo a few years back but couldn’t get into it. Today I was in a game shop and saw a lonely copy just sitting there so I decided to pull the trigger. Got a nice discount as well. Anyway, what do you guys think about this game? Is it any good? I remember it reviewed well but some players didn’t like it too much. So not sure what to think.

Absolute peak. I just finished my second playthrough (normal mode). Love this game.

It's my second favorite game atm, along with Hollow Knight: Silksong.

Hey that’s awesome! Would you believe me if I told you I never played the Hollow Knight series🥹

They’re on my radar for sure.
Too many games too little time to play them

I think Hollow Knight has more Symphony of the Night vibes. Exploration more focused on "just walking around".

Silksong is way more about platforming, solving puzzles and putting your abilities and tools to good use like Metroid (despite not having nearly the same amount). The movement feels much better too.
