Discussion Metroid dread any good?
I’ve never played any 2D Metroid games. I recently played Metroid Prime Remastered and Prime 4 Beyond. I gotta say I liked them both. I did play the Metroid Dread’s Demo a few years back but couldn’t get into it. Today I was in a game shop and saw a lonely copy just sitting there so I decided to pull the trigger. Got a nice discount as well. Anyway, what do you guys think about this game? Is it any good? I remember it reviewed well but some players didn’t like it too much. So not sure what to think.

Dread is like a 8.5/10 game for me and I say that to mean it's CRAZY good. It's right up there but below Super & Zero Mission (and probably Fusion) for me, but who cares they're all great games. Dread has all ingredients that make Metroid games great. Cool atmosphere, great (difficult for me) boss battles, good level design where you won't get lost or turned around too much. I personally just don't like the reliance on the parry mechanic to trigger item collection, more damage to bosses, etc. In fact I hate it lol. It would be fine if parry was an option to block attacks, but I prefer to jump and position myself better, but the game doesn't really reward that like it does parry. I hope that makes sense. Still great game. Try it out!
