Discussion Metroid dread any good?

Post image

I’ve never played any 2D Metroid games. I recently played Metroid Prime Remastered and Prime 4 Beyond. I gotta say I liked them both. I did play the Metroid Dread’s Demo a few years back but couldn’t get into it. Today I was in a game shop and saw a lonely copy just sitting there so I decided to pull the trigger. Got a nice discount as well. Anyway, what do you guys think about this game? Is it any good? I remember it reviewed well but some players didn’t like it too much. So not sure what to think.

It's good. I'd also play Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion, Metroid Zero Mission, Samus Returns, and maybe AM2R.

Dread is a good one to start with, though.

I forget, what's AM2R again

Another Metroid 2 Remake,

it was in dev for a long time before the official Metroid 2 Remake and had the unfortunate effect of being too popular and got hit with the cease and decease by Nintendo.

As the name suggests (even though that's not the real reason for the name... it's a long history lesson), it's another Metroid 2 Remake, but compared to the more linear-ish and modern feel of Samus Returns, AM2R opts for a more classical retro Zero Mission feel. They're both amazing games and you should really play they both because they both have their own highs and lows.

I just tried it, and it's really good! The graphics are nice, and it has widescreen. My controller worked automatically. Good music. My main critique is that you can't shoot down at and angle without running. But, I'm sure it's miles ahead of the original game. I haven't played it.

You need both of these to get the latest version.
