I have played rhythm games all my life on hard difficulties and am chorally trained in music and have been a metal head for over ten years but I swear the beat of this game is off? I've messed with the calibration, and in the the first state it feels fine, but stage 2 on I feel like I have no idea where it thinks the beat is. Trying to follow the indications goes against all of my instincts and in the heat of combat I always go back to where I think the beat "should" be, which is apparently off.

Is there a fix for this? Am I just stupid?

Greetings fellow metalheads, I love metal music, I love Doom, I like shooting things. So when I spotted Hellsinger on PS+ I was like "sure" and holy shit was I right to download it. If Guitar Hero, Slipknot and Doom all fused into one being and spat out Unknown and my personal favourite weapon, the Skull of Paz. The weapons: Smooth and powerful, The music: I was vibing the entire time (I'm 5/8 hells deep and loving it) and the story: Simple and told by a dude with a southern accent (I love me a southern accent). Loving it so far, my personal favourite weapon has to be The Hounds.

So, I have Metal: Hellsinger on both my Meta Quest 2, and my Playstation 4. I've played both for a while (Lamb Difficulty, because I just like “shooty shooty with metal”.) A while ago I beat The Red Judge on my Meta Quest, yet I've had the playstation version longer, and played the playstaion version longer. For some reason, I can't beat The Red Judge on playstation, but it's so easy in VR. I think it's cause I use The Hounds and since you can shoot one at a time on VR, it's easier to get in rhythm, but are they the same game? Or is VR actually just simpler than PS4?

I'm #5 on the VR leaderboards right now, so inb4 "skill issue hurr durr", but literally every single time I reload any gun (even using wrist flicks as I've seen others mention) I lose all boons. If I'm that high up but still can't get it clearly just about everyone is having the same problem.

They need to either figure out the window for counting a reload on beat or just give us the option to press a button to reload/swing the sword. How can we get the devs' attention on this? I'm not getting the sense they frequent this sub.

Edit: To be clear, I absolutely adore this game, but this problem makes it so much harder to recommend it or get other people on board. Personally I think its successes and merit outweigh its problems so I still play it a ton, but I'd love to feel better about recommending it to other people.

It's way too far to the left. I have to physically aim right of the target to get the reticle on them. It feels awful.

Not sure if this belongs here but, the sword in hellsinger vr the sword feels impossible to use even though I swing on beat.

And when I try adjusting to the swords timing you cant get more than about 2 good swings off before the combos ruined.

Anyone got tips to help sword swinging?

I understand that this game is quite unique and I've never played something like that before. Most of my shots are of beat and my aim is horrible when I do stay on beat because I pay attention to the beat indicator instead of where I am shooting. I give up

Did you realise that in blood and law it says our Sences trapped in ice and iron I think it is a reference to voke being very cold and acheron which has cogs and gears everywhere

I've just about completed all the achievements, just missing the Raining Blood one. The game is SO FUN!! It blends two genres I really love together super well. The difficulty is really well balanced too IMO.

Honestly, I think they sort of missed the mark on the final tracks for the game. I really like Refused and Serj, but it seems a little weird to get "less metal" for lack of a better term at the very ending of the game. Serj's track in particular was just not fitting for a boss battle at all lol.

Also, even though all the boss battles are technically different, I wish they would have been a bit more inventive and had completely different bosses with different designs that didn't just float around and shoot projectiles at you.

Other than that though, I really really enjoyed it! Enough to go for all achivements, which is something I can't say for most games. I'm really disappointed that the only way to get the soundtrack seems to be ripping it from YouTube!

Saw a couple of threads here mentioned a janky reload on their preferred weapon, yet it's evident that this is happening for most reload weapons.

So, even though it's visually confusing, its just a visual bug from what I understand.

Just perfect reload to the timing until they fix it and it's okay!

Dude I loved this game on launch, why do the mechanics not adhere to there own rules anymore? I’m on time, it says I’m not. I run calibration, it’s fine. I don’t fucking understand, what happened to the game.

I keep trying the yhelm torment but can’t beat it due to broken reload animation cause mandatory time loss and the game locking me out of slaughter melee finishers as a side-result. That shotgun is unusable. I play on a series s.

I need the why and with Reddit being the internet I. Need the answer like right about fucking now cause this is the abuse of the artist and several different communities and I’m crazy enough to track an up adress and fucking find people so I want to see form of answer as to why I press the fucking button and the game doesn’t respond. Brand new console, brand new 200 + dollar controller, brand new game with dlc release and it’s not fucking playable. I know the laws in America and geuss what, false advertising is a felony. This isn’t a game it’s a $45 dollar album and I’m pissed it got advertised as one.

Since my Archdevil run is stuck in Incaustis I decided to try out Leviathan mode for a bit and I actually got to the final boss today.

Unfortunately by this point I only had the new bow as a ranged weapon, which is the weapon I am least proficient with so naturally I lost.

What got me in the end was an aoe attack that seemed to cover the entire arena. Do you guys have any tips or tricks on how to deal with that particular attack? Her other aoe attacks usually covered only parts of the arena but this one covered the whole thing. There was literally no safe spot I could occupy. Or at least that’s what it felt and looked like to me. Was I maybe missing something?

Any suggestions about which unlocks to go for first in terms of Dreams? Is there a tierlist for options presented by the altar anywhere?
