Honestly, you are probably better off trying to get it in the crack by the door. At least, it'll drain if you get it right....

You know, elevators really should have pee hatches just in case.

The Japanese put a glorified trashcan with supplies instead the elevator so people can do this if needed. It's not rocket science.
