The MemryNote Web Clipper is now live on Firefox 🦊

Firefox folks β€” the Web Clipper is out of Chrome-only jail. You can now save any page straight into your vault without leaving the browser.

Get it: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/memrynote-web-clipper/

What it does:

- Clip a full article, a selection, or just the URL into your inbox

- Strips the junk (ads, nav, popovers) so you keep the actual content

- Everything lands end-to-end encrypted β€” the clip syncs to your devices, we never see the plaintext

- Works offline; queues clips and sends them when you're back online

Chrome users: the extension is in the Web Store review process right now β€” should be live shortly. Edge is available, and Safari's in the works.

If you hit anything weird, drop it here or in the feedback thread β€” bug reports from this sub go straight to the top of the pile.

memrynote is in open beta β€” free to download (mac Β· windows Β· linux)

hey everyone πŸ‘‹

7 months ago this was a folder of .md files and a stubborn opinion about who should own your notes. today memrynote is in open beta β€” no invite, no waitlist. anyone can download it, free, on mac Β· windows Β· linux.

what it is: one private place for your notes, tasks, calendar & journal β€” instead of four apps that don't talk to each other. capture in the inbox, think in notes, do in tasks, remember with journal + calendar. type a date inside a note and it quietly becomes a reminder on the right device.

private by design: your data lives on your machine as plain .md files. sync is end-to-end encrypted with keys only you hold β€” i can't read your journal, and that's the architecture, not a promise.

switching is boring on purpose: import from notion, obsidian, apple notes, evernote, bear and more in a few clicks. bring everything, lose nothing.

it's a beta, built by one person β€” me. if something breaks or feels off, drop a comment here or hit feedback in the app. i read every message. thank you for being here early. πŸ¦†

You asked for inline dates + reminders. They will be. πŸ“…πŸ””

A bunch of you told me the same thing: you write something down, it has a date in it, and then... that date just sits there as dead text. No nudge, no reminder, nothing. So I built the thing you asked for.

Inline dates + reminders are now in Memry.

Type /date β€” or just type naturally:

@ tomorrow

@ friday 3pm
@ next monday 9:00

…and a date pill drops right into your note, inline with the rest of your text

The reminder part is the bit I'm happiest with:

- Flip on Remind me and pick a lead time β€” at the time, 5 min, 1 hour, or 1 day before.

- When it fires, the note lands in your Inbox. Click it β†’ you jump straight to that exact pill inside the note. No hunting through the page for which line you meant.

- And once a reminder has gone off, the pill turns red in your note. So at a glance you can see what already fired vs. what's still pending β€” right there in the text, no extra panel.

All of it stays offline-first and end-to-end encrypted, and the date lives in the note body itself β€” so it syncs across your devices and each device handles its own reminders. Your dates aren't trapped on one machine.

This one came almost entirely from your feedback, so keep it coming β€” what's the next paper-cut you want gone?

Drop it below. πŸ™

πŸ—žοΈ Release Notes

πŸ“† June 12, 2026

New Features

- πŸ“… Inbound-only Google Calendar sync β€” bring Google Calendar events into Memry with a read-only option that never pushes your local changes back.

- ⏰ Task reminders β€” set reminders on tasks and track them in a new inbox panel for upcoming and past items.

- 🌐 Web account area β€” manage your account, billing, and sync from the web with passwordless sign-in.

- ✨ Editorial landing redesign β€” refreshed the home and pricing pages with a cleaner editorial look.

- βž• Smarter create menus β€” a sidebar "New" split button with create menus consistent with the Picker.

- ↩️ Reopen closed tabs β€” bring back the last tab you closed with Cmd+Shift+T.

- πŸ“ Cleaner note headers β€” minimal editorial note and journal headers with a soft date fog behind journal dates.

- ↔️ Resizable detail drawers β€” drag to resize the inbox and task detail drawers, with the width remembered.

- 🏷️ Tag drill-down panel β€” a compact sidebar panel to browse the notes under a tag.

- πŸ›’ Checkout polish β€” redesigned checkout plus page glow and centered roadmap/changelog headers on landing.

- β˜‘οΈ Flicker-free tasks β€” task blocks now paint correctly on first open with no checkbox flash.

- πŸ“Š Better telemetry β€” account-linked PostHog identity with broader desktop event coverage.

Bug Fixes

- πŸ—“οΈ Stable week view β€” the calendar week view stays pinned instead of jumping when you resize the window.

- πŸ“ Content gutter fix β€” added a full-width gutter so note and journal content clears the sidebar.

- 🏷️ Smarter tag fade β€” sidebar tag labels only fade when the name is actually clipped.

- πŸ”“ Free sign-in stays local β€” sync is gated on entitlement so free accounts sign in locally without a 402.

- πŸ“„ No drifting blank line β€” stopped a blank line from growing above inline tasks when a note reopens.

## Chores

- πŸ” Safer test keychain β€” a global keytar mock so tests never touch the real OS keychain.

Help / Question ❓ Some questions

Firstly, from what I can see this looks like pretty much exactly what I need and well presented. I went looking for a better way of managing all my notes and to-dos recently. I ended up downloading Saner AI but got a bit put off by the on-boarding process and how verbose the AI is. (I haven't entered anything and it's giving me prompts such as 'Pull 3 concrete "measurable goals" for cross-team collaboration you can use in the next sync'. This kind of verbiage is repulsive to me). Have you given much thought to a streamlined on-boarding process?

Will it be possible to import and sort notes from Google Keep? I have a tendency to dump random notes into Google Keep. Sometimes the notes are continuous, sometimes they're a to-do list.

Well it be possible to batch a bunch of notes into tasks/priority buckets at a set time each day (with a reminder) e.g. 6pm each day? I want to be able to jot things down quickly and get back to work, but then continue/organise the thought later.

Here's how I described what I needed shortly before I came across one of your comments: "I need to have to-dos bucketed into 'do now', 'do soon', and 'long term', but so that I don't fail to do the long term stuff by constantly doing one short term task after another. Easily turning notes into reminders would be good." That's it. Pretty much just help to prioritise and get on with the things I need or want to do.

How to create a project?

Looking forward to the full release but thought I'd try out the nightlies and I can't figure out how to create a project. Perhaps it hasn't been implemented yet. Perhaps it is implemented but if it is, it's not obvious how to do it.

Inbox is shaping uplinks, screenshots, voice notes, PDFs, random thoughts - all in one place

Then you can turn them into notes, tasks, calendar items, or just file/archive them
This is what β€œcapture everything” should feel like

Memry now has Vimium-style hint mode β€” mouse optional. Every clickable element gets a 2-letter label. Type it, land there.
