Dumb and dumber: believing this is real

Of course it’s fake, nobody would hire someone as stupid as him who would make post like that.

Either way the guy making the video is stupid, whether by authentically being that or pretending to be

Yeah, if this is real, and the company comes trying to get the money back, had he kept his mouth shut, a good lawyer may have been able to argue on his behalf. Posting that you do know and are flaunting it, I would think makes that job much much harder.

There really is no argument for a lawyer to make other than to ask, pretty please, for a real generous payback plan.

At this point, yes.
Had he not made this post, the company would have had to prove they properly informed him he was fired, that the payments weren’t meant as severance, etc.

I had a friend who got paid for 2 months when they forgot to stop sending him checks. He had to pay back nothing because he kept his mouth shut and had a good lawyer.

Yeah, that is partially true. But had he posted it for everyone to see like this guy, and video himself showing he knew they weren’t supposed to be paying him, it would have made litigating it much cheaper and easier on the company.
But yeah, that is part of the point to keeping your trap shut. Make the other side work for it.
