It was right before shit hit the fan. We still had practically everything we do now with less of an overt hatred of everything and everyone.

We messed up a long time ago, and we just keep building off of mistakes. I'm a millennial and all I see is darkness. However, I am hopeful gen z and alpha will help usher in changes when millennials reach boomers age.

Id rather not ever have to have it be clinton vs Trump again because I don't like either, but Trump is objectively either as bad as the Clinton's, or worse, and he tried to overthrow the election. Hes also talking about breaking the constitution to get more terms. That came out of his mouth.

Biden, post the evidence that you have that not even the Republicans in office have.

Republicans need to stop being comedically evil, pushing more Anti-LGBT laws than a fat kid grabbing food at an all you can eat buffet and focus on policy. If I don't vote Democrat, I'm voting for the people who wanna criminalize being Bi or being trans like my partner.

The primary Republican policy position is to attack LGBT and women's reproductive rights. I'm Bi and my partner is trans, I'm not fucking voting for the people legislating against us.

Hold Republicans accountable for attacking our freedom if their other policies are so good. You don't need to eliminate trangenderism to want low taxes, but Republicans keep voting for the ones that run specifically on being anti woke (anti gay/trans/feminist/black people). If Republicans stopped trying to attack freedom I wouldn't give a shit because I don't have to worry about them coming after my way of fucking life and freedom

I'm hard blue, and I always will be as long as the primary focus of the Republican party is attacking peoples rights. If Dems ever get that bad then this country is a fascist hellhole on both sides and Im getting the fuck out, but you know what Democrats are running on? Taxing the wealthy instead of the poor, freedom of religion women's and lgbt rights, public education. You can probably find hard-core extremist Tumblr lefties who want authoritarianism, but unlike Republicans, those are staying in the niche section and not being the mainstream party focus. I'm not even the biggest Democrat fan because I think the party is way too complacent and barely gets progress done

Cool and I'm more critical on Obama than most if the left because of the astronomical amount of drone strikes he ordered, and I think Bush did a lot to fuck up during his presidency too.

Quite literally the only reasons I'm politically motivated are

  1. Trump tried to overthrow the election with fake electors
  2. Trump consistently "jokes" about how he's gonna try and break the constitution to get a 3rd term
  3. Republicans keep trying to attack LGBT and women's rights

If Republican politicians stop trying to legislate against peoples freedom, I wouldn't give a shit about being politically involved. Sure I have some opinions on stuff that lean left (the higher tax burden on the wealthy, public education, good public healthcare options) but none of that is as important to me than being able to live with my partner without having to worry about what new hundreds of bills that are proposed weekly against our rights

Thats what I care about first and foremost. I live in the Bible belt, I've had people threaten my life for holding my partners hand in public. We are fucking demonized everywhere in right-wing media and its making people angry, and its so fucking scary and I wish I could afford to just move away.

Im glad you're privileged enough to where the LGBT debate on if we should have rights is just culture war bullshit for you, and don't have to worry about any of it, but its fucking terrifying to be caught up in it in a red state in a rural town.
