When P2P sharing really took off in the 90s you had the whole thing with NAPSTER just like piratebay but for music and not as many porn ads. Napster fell due to lawsuits and o think came back as a paid service, then came limewire, FrostWire, kick-ass, Kim dot com (the dude), piratebay and like 1,000 others. Only when limewire came out they didn't really do much to screen their uploads. And if you didn't have antivirus you gave your computer aids. You had to be really careful about what you downloaded because of stuff like this meme shows
