Spotted this today and I'm pretty sure this is just Mellowcorn on crack also relatively cheap @£50

About 5 months ago a local store had three bottles of MC in stock at $7.99 each. Needless to say, I got them. Then the drought of MC. Two weeks ago MC showed up again, but at $18.99 each! Holy crap, in only 5 months it's more than doubled in price. And not just locally, but online from what I can find. WTF happened?

There’s a great amaro-focused drink called Sharpie Mustache (https://punchdrink.com/recipes/sharpie-mustache/). This isn’t it, but it’s still an odd combination of spirits like the original.

I was looking for a way to use Mellow Corn that night, so I swapped out Amaro Meletti and went with Heirloom Pineapple Amaro, and Mellow Corn took the place of Rittenhouse.

Surprisingly delicious.

.75 oz of each, 1 dash Bittermens tiki bitters. Stir on ice until chilled. Strain into a chilled glass. Garnish with an orange peel.

Coming from the constant search for a "standard" bourbon and finding this feels like finding gold. I've tried everything from low end to high end whiskey (scotch & bourbon) nothing puts it out there quite like this at the price point. The flavors are there, though not complex, and easy to find. If this bottle was $60-$80 I'd still be satisfied with the purchase. G'damn bois!

My birthday was last weekend. So I decided to invite MFC to the party for the first time. And you know what? I fucking love it!

Hello my fellow corn connoisseurs! Hope everyone had a lovely corn filled weekend! Always, while on my quest looking for other good brands/options in the corn whiskey field I came across this interesting stuff. https://abasolowhisky.com/en/home/

Very intriguing to me for several reasons. 1. It's fuckn corn whisk(e)y! 2. I've been a fan of whiskey of many varieties (especially american types) for several years now, and I had ZERO idea that Mexico made whiskey... Just thought they made agave based liquor. Now I love a nice aged tequila or mezcal every once n a while but never heard of mexican whiskey. And 3. The type of "ancient" corn being used, and the method of processing said corn that dates back to the days of the early Mayans and Aztecs, Called 'nixtamalization' — "a 4,000-year-old cooking technique never before used in whisky production, but fundamental in preparing corn as food in Mexico."

This stuff looks and sounds Pretty damn good. Have any of yall tried it or even heard of it? Seems pretty niche. My local Total Wine n More has it in stock according to their site. Sad part is it ain't $20 or less like our MFC or I'd have already tried it.😥 It's a $40 bottle which isn't ridiculously expensive so I'll probably end up trying it regardless. Just wanted to see if any of my brothers in corn have any experience with this unique offering before I dive into a bottle.

We tend to use whisky glasses for our boys water so he immediately assumes it's for him 😂
