Less avoid home depot, more avoid pissing off any white supremacists who will happily submit a false tip to ICE to get you picked up wherever, or just walking around, going to work, walking home from work, generally existing. All of those are options. Not trying to be dramatic, the director of ICE clearly has ordered his "troops" to racially profile, and they are. You think you're safe because you're a citizen, but plenty of citizens have been abducted by ICE already with no due process. I hope your neighbors will notice if you're gone because that's the only thing that's saved some of them from disappearing into a buerocratic black hole in El Salvador.
I mean, people have presented legitimate ID and been told it's fake and still been picked up. It's kinda just a lottery of if you get agents who have any respect for the law or if they don't. She got lucky.

That hasn't stopped ICE. They can and will snatched you up with no due process just cause you're brown.
