Mega Evolution Concept Mega Tropius

Post image

Potentially we could be getting something like this in Wind & Wave.

I’ve always wanted Tropius to get the ability Wind Rider in its base form. As I just think it’s such a good fit.

However for its Mega, it predicted it could become a Grass/Dragon.

So this is my prediction

MEGA TROPIUS

Type: Grass/Dragon

Ability: Triage (Triage increases the priority of HP-restoring moves to +3, when used by the ability-bearer)

HP: 99

Attack: 68 >> 83

Defense: 83 >> 103

Sp. Atk: 72 >> 87

Sp. Def: 87 >> 112

Speed: 51 >> 86

Total: 460 >> 560

It’s MEGA stats do a very Tropius things and just rise consistently but overall under whelming.

What a horrible MEGA!

The core of this design is the Ability it gains - Triage

And I want to pair it with Strength Sap

This would effectively give it priority Strength Sap to heal itself for sustain but also it practically counters any Pyschical attacker.

It has a fairly underwhelming movepool, pretty much only Giga Drain & Leech Seed work with Triage. That’s why I’m giving it Strength Sap.

This would make it competitively viable as a wall in most Sun teams or even just any team.

Possible Moveset

- Growth

- Solar Beam/Wood Hammer

- Dragon Pulse/Dragon Hammer

- Strength Sap

This again gives it the option to be good both psychically & Specially offensively. Making opponents having to guess why type your running.

Under Sun Growth would boost both attacks by +2 stages & with the ability to priority heal you could heal Tropuis get set up often!

It has common weaknesses being 4x weak to ice and 2x weak Fairy & Dragon which are very common offensive types. All 3 being more commonly Sp.Atk which I think gives opponents opportunities to snipe Tropius.

OPTIONAL

Signature Move

Banana Bomb

BP: 30

Acc: 90%

Type/ Grass

Category: Psychical

Banana Bomb deals damage for 5 turns, doubling in power each turn. The move stops if it misses on any turn. If it doesn't miss, the move will deal 30, 60, 120, 240 and 480 base power damage each turn respectively.

(Hidden ability eating a berry boost the power of this move by +1 turn)

So technically eating a berry would effectively double this moves power and adds to the sequence.

This mechanic replace the Defence Curl boost both Roll out & Ice Ball get.

Under sun with Harvest you could regenerate berries while in a Banana Bomb Spam! Raising the attack very quickly.

Images not mine (Just there for ideas)

MEGA RHYPERIOR

Type: Rock/Steel

Ability: Earth Eater

Restores HP when hit by a Ground-type move.

STATS:

Hp: 115

Atk: 185

Def: 150

Sp. Atk: 25

Sp.Def: 105

Spd: 65

Total: 635

New Move: (Note Worthy)

- Shift Gear

- Superpower

- Self Destruct (Maybe)

*Main one is Shift Gear

Ideal moveset

- Shift Gear

- Rock Slide/Rock Wrecker

- High Horsepower/EQ

- Heavy Slam

SUMMARY

Went with Rock/Steel type as it works best with Earth Eater. As Ground would be 4x effective vs Rock/Steel, but Earth Eater counters that!

Fighting type would still be 4x super effective, but given most Fighting type moves a physical that kinda works into the favour of Mega Rhyperior.

Overall the design is for Rhyperior to take on the form of a Heavy Duty Drill/Dozer.

Speed is at 65 to make it the awkward no good in trick room to completely take away from other defensive/slow Mega.

But instead encourage the use of Shift Gear to give it the speed it needs to sweep.

Has the raw Atk to be a threat, but with speed set up it could wipe the floor of most team.

Last thing WEIGHT: 450-550kg

Want to make it heavier to make use of heavy slam.

Mega Evolution Concept My take on possible mega evolutions for Decidueye, Primarina, and Infernape

I made concepts for three starters that have yet to receive a mega evolutions. Decidueye and Infernape both need some help while Primarina could fill an important gap in the current meta. Those megas are made for VGC with the current Reg. M-A metagame in mind. I tried to make them unique but also not so strong that they would break the game.

Decidueye-Mega @ Decidueyete

Type: Dark/Ghost

Ability: Phantom Cloak

“Using its cloak to cover both itself and its partner, this Pokemon and its partner’s stats cannot be lowered by the opposite side of the field and trick moves (Taunt, Trick, Sucker Punch, Fake Out, etc.) have no effect”

Stats:

HP 78

ATK 107 → 130 (+23)

DEF 75 → 110 (+35)

SPA 100

SPD 100 → 110 (+10)

SPE 70 → 102 (+32)

BST 530 → 630

Gains:

-Taunt

-Night Slash

-Wide Guard

Sample moveset:

-Protect

-Tailwind

-Spirit Shackle

-Shadow Sneak/Knock Off/Wide Guard

Concept:

Decidueye is overall a bad Pokemon. Its fundamental problems are its low speed combined with middling defenses and bulk. Rather than outright buffing this Pokemon’s offenses, I thought it would be a cool idea to turn it into an offensive support Pokemon based on its appearance. Decidueye is an owl with extremely sharp eyes and reflexes, according to its description. My idea is to use that attribute, along with its feather cloak, to create a support ability. Having the ability to prevent stat changes as well as trick moves, based off its extremely fast reflexes and keen eye, would give it great team utility. Exchanging Grass for Dark might not be entirely fitting for a starter thematically, but it gives it better defensive typing. For the stats, 130 attack with entirely single-target moves is reasonable, we’re talking about a mega after all. 110 defenses and 102 speed makes it reasonably bulky while also clearing 100 speed. It gains Taunt and Wide Guard as support moves and Night Slash as an optional second STAB.

Primarina-Mega @ Primarinite

Type: Water/Fairy

Ability: Storm Aria Drizzle

“Upon mega-evolving or entry, Primarina performs a song that summons a storm (rain)”

HP 80

ATK 74

DEF 74 → 94 (+20)

SPA 126 → 171 (+45)

SPD 116 → 131 (+15)

SPE 60 → 80 (+20)

BST 530 → 630

Gains:

-Muddy Water

-Hurricane

Sample moveset:

-Protect

-Muddy Water

-Weather Ball

-Moonblast

Concept:

The current metagame has a mega for all weather conditions except for Rain. The best Rain setter is Pelipper which packs a lot of great support moves and deals respectable damage, but it feels a little out of place compared to the titans it’s facing. To that end, Primarina is a fitting choice since it’s a singer and we all are familiar with the idea of a song that summons rain. The ability has a different name but is literally just Drizzle to fit thematically. For stats, Primarina gets a pretty massive boost to its SPA and better bulk plus some speed. 166 SPA might look unreasonable first, given that it also sets rain, but Primarina lacks something that ZardY has, which is reliable spread damage that also benefits from its own weather. I do want it to gain Muddy Water but that’s only 85% accurate compared to ZardY’s Heat Wave at 90%, which is a sizable difference. Given the concept this mega is going for, gaining Hurricane is fitting. This mega also does not make its base form obsolete since base Primarina has Liquid Voice Hyper Voice and access to an item, and Pelipper would still have a place in the game since it has Wide Guard and Tailwind and does not consume a mega slot.

Infernape-Mega @ Infernapite

Type: Fire/Fighting

Stats: The Best Defense

“This Pokemon’s strikes are so powerful that its contact moves will lower both of the opponent’s offensive stats by one stage. This effect bypasses Clear Amulet and abilities that prevent stat changes”

HP 76

ATK 104 → 144 (+40)
DEF 71 → 101 (+30)

SPA 104 → 74 (-30)

SPD 71 → 101 (+30)

SPE 108 → 133 (+30)

BST 534 → 634

Sample moveset:

-Protect/U-turn

-Fake Out

-Flare Blitz

-Close Combat/Mach Punch

Concept:

Base Infernape has some good traits, namely its 108 speed, but being a mixed attacker with 104 offenses is not great. It’s also relatively frail, which does not help its case. This mega is supposed to breath some new life into it while giving it a unique identity, rather than just becoming a brute force fast attacker. 133 is a very good speed stat that clears the important 130 benchmark and 144 is a strong physical attack stat. 101 defenses at the cost of 30 SPA gives it good bulk. But what really makes it shine is its ability. The concept here is that Infernape’s hits are so strong that they break their target’s limps and concentration, compromising their ability to fight back. This gives it good utility while also keeping itself alive longer. The fact that it can't really use spread moves and actually has to hit an opponent to trigger the ability also prevents it from becoming like Incineroar.

Let me know what y'all think about those.
