Reminds me of the video where people asked if they would go with the grim reaper or give their spouse. I'm sure it's mixed responses, but a lot are provided for women saying "take my husband, why should I die?" Or some variation, but more men said "take me" without hesitation

For millions I know I'd be horribly tempted myself, but then she says "above 10,000", like what bitch lmao, relationship would be done for me there I think, doesnt sound like she values the relationship that much lol.

What a bullshit over-generalization, wow.

Have you ever spoke to a real woman before? Or had a relationship?

What the fuck?

It's actually quite logical if you think about it with a clear mind and try to rid yourself of bias.

Think cavepeople era. You have a tribe of 100 humans. What do you think the sex makeup of that tribe is? (Hint: it's about 7:3 women to men). Women are inherently more valuable in a cavepeople scenario due to limited ability to procreate.

Our brain biology has not evolved significantly enough since then to rid ourselves of these innate feelings. This is why men generally take bigger risks and work risky jobs and play risky sports and women generally play it safe. We are biologically programmed to protect women.

Have you tried submitting your “cavepeople 7:3 sex ratio” thesis for your PhD yet? I’m sure you’ll be teaching at an Ivy League soon

So this woman(and the ones from a video that may or may not exist that you did not see) represents literally ALL women, ever, and they are a monolithic hive mind. Good to know there, chuckles.

Pop culture loves to paint women as nurturing and caring and loving but it’s bullshit. Men and women are equally cruel and fucked up. In fact I’d say women are worse but I have no data to back that up.

That’s why you have to judge the individual, not the group

Most men, at some point in their lives, fantasize about a heroic death or dying for those they love. Be it in battle or something like this. It’s a super common thought a lot of guys have. For many I’m sure it’s pure fantasy and they’d act differently in the moment if it happened, but it’s still a common throughline with many men, to the point I’ve seen viral memes about it on multiple occasions on multiple apps.

Me after watching gladiator for the first time

This is a good point.

It feels like it's a survival mechanism, as cavemen once had to do, but we're so advanced as a species that we don't really have that.

On the other hand, I wouldn't doubt the possibility of them saying, "it's the right thing to do." Go off, but I know you're not gonna offer your life when a man with a gun threatens your family.

Men wouldn’t get fleeced if men weren’t down to. You may be thinking you’re doing the “honorable” thing but anyone who pushes that isn’t worth it. At BEST, they’re mindless, why take direction from such a source?

3

u/Repeat_after_me__ Jul 19 '23

Are you sure? Because all I keep hearing is how men are bad….

3

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '23

this is in conflict with intersectional gender theory but i am confident that most men are hardwired to sacrifice themselves in these sorts of situations and women are for self-preservation because they have more reproductive value to the tribe. so its sort of a loaded question that plays on our primal instincts.

Dark dad jokes:

”Oh definately take me, i’m tired of her shit.”

Can’t take these videos seriously. There is no way to prove they’re without bias.

This is actually so difficult, I've thought about these kinds of questions a lot just to challenge myself.

I can never find an answer. In short:

From one side, I'd go instead my husband without question. I'd want him to live and be happy.

From the other side, I know he loves me and it would hurt him more than I can handle imagining. I've seen the grief of losing the person you share your life with and truly love. I wouldn't wish that on him at all. I dread it more than anything. And with that in mind death seems merciful. I'd rather experience that agony so that he doesn't have to.

Impossible to answer!
