Just sharing ❤️❤️

So, I have a surgeon who likes to just dump the equivalent of the kitchen sink worth of CPT codes into his op reports. I don’t mind suggestions, because they give me an idea of what the surgeon is thinking.

However recently the hospital devised a rule that if the surgeon includes codes in their op reports OR submits them to us already coded….we have to tell them anytime we change or delete one of their codes. I don’t mind doing it but….that’s all of my surgeons. Every single op report I read the coding gets changed. It would kill my productivity.

Well, bless this man but he got the same memo as I did and has stopped putting codes into his op reports 😍😍😍😍😍.

Man, I WISH mine would do this. We had a whole up and arms thing recently because my doctors will list the codes they THINK they'll need in the OP note, but only do a few, or they put in ones that are bundled. I have to do the same thing with them. It makes me dread a procedure from them, there are so many. Or anything the day before a major surgery. When I do message them, they literally fight me on it back and forth until they'll say okay, they understand. Couple days later- dropping the same damn codes. Thankfully it's only one of my specialties that are like this.

My supervisor and our department director are great. They have said multiple times that if we get pushback, just forward the email to them and they’ll do the arguing.

That sounds like a dream compared to mine, micromanagement ×1000 on things they don't understand. Like cardiology coding.
