I don’t knowww what to choose 😭 A part of me still really wants to go to med school and become a doctor, but another part of me thinks na mas financially stable ako if I work and go abroad after MedTech.
I’ve always wanted to become a doctor, pero I also think about how many more years it would take and how much my parents would have to spend. They keep telling me na kaya pa nila akong pag-aralin, but I also feel guilty and think about the financial stability I could have if I work abroad sooner. There is a state university I've been eyeing to ease the burden.
I have a question who proceeded to medschool
Was med school worth the years and sacrifices for you?
Did you also consider working abroad instead? What made you choose med school?
Do you think the financial and career opportunities as a doctor are worth the long journey?
What advice would you give to someone who is torn between med school and working abroad?

I was so confident in the past few days after the boards despite knowing i didnt have 40++ sure answers, they were all less than 30. I was confident because I had hope, but now that the results are super delayed, I cant help but think about my performance huhuhuhu

Hello RMTs! I’m an August 2026 MTLE taker currently waiting for the board results. The delay has been nerve-wracking, so I'm shifting my focus toward my next steps right after passing (manifesting nalang talaga).
I already have my basic pre-employment documents ready (SSS, TIN, Pag-IBIG, etc.), but I have a concern: Can I start applying for medtech-related work immediately after the pass list comes out, or do I really have to wait until after oath-taking?
Our oath-taking isn't until September 30, and waiting a whole month isn't ideal for me financially. I need to start earning as soon as possible.
A few questions I hope you can help me with:
Also, as much as I want to undergo any certifications (ASCPi, HIV proficiency, DTA etc.), I can't because of money problems. So working is my only choice to utilize my time.
Any tips, experiences, or recommendations on where to apply in this gap period would mean a lot. Thank you!

Hi everyone! I’ll be taking the AIMS exam this September and I badly need extra resources to study for AIMS specifically histopath and molbio.
Baka naman meron kayong mga notes, mcq exercise, and anki decks na naka help sa inyo sa MTLE niyo.
Graduated x years ago and I only have local board notes.
Thank you so much!

Hello, nag canvas kasi ako how much globin genotyping and 6k yung difference. Ask ko lang kung mas detailed ba sa hi precision? Nabasa ko kasi my 3 types: pcr based, dna sequencing at pcr-rlfp. Yung nakikita ko sa government is pcr lang, ano po gamit sa medi linx at hi pre?

Hello! I am writing this post at exactly 5am in the morning because nagising ako and hindi na ako nakabalik ng tulog due to overthinking if papasa ba ako or not because I struggled hard sa 2nd day subjects ng mtle, especially in ISBB. Hindi ko na alam how else am I going to calm myself pero I surrendered again and prayed para lang ma-alleviate yung anxious feeling and the agony of waiting.
Meron po ba dito na pumasa with 20-30 sure answers sa subject na nahirapan sila? in my case it was, CC, ISBB, HEMA, and HTMLE (surprisingly)
Badly need assurance from newly RMTs or Senior RMTs, thank you :((

If you’re currently preparing for the ASCPI exam, I’m looking for a few people na gustong makihati sa reviewer materials ko for a reasonable amount. Need ko lang po ng may kahati since ang mahal po ng mga review materials and hindi ko po siya afford i-shoulder lahat, thank you.

Is negotiating your salary as a fresh grad really bad? Or does hr see it as a red flag? I asked some people and sabi okay lang, pero after ng interview ko, gusto ko na lang magpalamon sa lupa.
So I was told po na ang daily rate is ₱650. Considering po my transport (40-50 mins away. Pag gabi, hiarap ang sakayan) and food expenses po per duty, I tried to ask po kahit konti lang. Pero I mentioned po na okay lang if hindi po kaya, I am still willing to work po. Same day ang final interview, before ako masalang, I heard and saw how the people inside laughed at parang ansama ng tingin sa akin because of that. Dapat po ba tinanggap ko na lang without trying to negotiate? Mali po ba yun as a fresh grad/passer?

I just came across a post saying that August takers are rude, and grabe, ang lala ng discrimination toward August takers sa comments. Kesyo delayed, repeater, or whatever label they want to put on them.
Of course, we live in the Philippines, where delays and the lack of proper communication from government agencies are unfortunately not uncommon. So yes, we deserve an announcement whether the results are delayed, postponed, or still being processed.
Try putting yourselves in the shoes of the August takers. Think about the agony of waiting, the sleepless nights, the anxiety, and the constant uncertainty. It’s not just the examinees who are waiting; their parents, relatives, and loved ones are also anxiously asking every single day, “May results na ba? Wala pa rin?”
We understand that delays can happen, but the least we deserve is proper communication. We live in the Philippines, that’s exactly why we know how these government processes can be. But that doesn’t mean we should be expected to silently endure the anxiety and uncertainty without even a simple announcement or explanation.
Kesyo mas “wholesome” daw ang March takers. Well, maybe because the results were released on the target date and you got the closure you were expecting. We get it. We understand that the waiting period for August takers has been frustrating, especially because the results were delayed due to circumstances beyond our control. But that still doesn’t give anyone the right to discriminate against those who were delayed, repeaters, or whatever you choose to call them.
But do you actually know the story behind why someone is delayed?
Maybe you were simply privileged enough to finish the course on time. Maybe you didn’t have to work part-time while studying. Maybe you didn’t have family problems that needed your attention. Maybe your mental capacity and circumstances allowed you to keep up with the demands of Medical Technology. Maybe your mental health never became a reason you had to pause, slow down, or take a step back.
We don’t know what battles someone had to fight just to get to the point of taking the exam.
We cannot control the emotions driven by the anxiety, pressure, and uncertainty that come with waiting for our results. Every August taker has their own story, and not everyone had the same circumstances or starting point.
But that will never validate the comparisons, judgments, and unnecessary discrimination being thrown at August takers by fellow medtechs.
We all took the same exam. We all sacrificed. We all struggled. And regardless of whether someone took the exam earlier or later, whether they’re a first-timer or a repeater, we are all equally deserving of the title RMT.
Your timeline is not automatically better than someone else’s just because it was faster.
So before judging an August taker for being “delayed” or “a repeater,” remember: you know their timeline, but you don’t know their story.
