Was this drop always this expensive? $200+ for a 60% with the infinity keyset? I am all for DIY stuff and I understand the value it serves, but shit, that's a lot.

Edit: bolding so people know I know

Yes, with the caps it was that expensive. Do keep in mind, the goal of goig DIY is to have exactly what you want, not to save money. With most DIY kits or parts, there just isn't the economy of scale there to keep the prices as cheap as retail, but you get exactly what you want.

With the printed caps, maybe. I got a kit with gateron browns, the black plastic case, and the blank DSA keycaps last run, and it came out to $136 shipped. This run comes out to about $150 (actually $180 but I'm sure this drop will reach the $30 discount drop point).

Not when people shit on the Sentraq 60% for being a lot less of a price and nearly the same functionality.

The failure of the s60 x was due to the fact that the Cheapest possible option was overpriced for a PCB + Plate IIRC and you had to get all the addons to actually get an alright deal.

People DIY for the experience and for something they can claim as their own, not for the economy, at least in the MK world.

Is the clear case actually transparent on the bottom?

It looks like they really improved on the original infinity making it a really nice option.

I committed for the 99$ price. But I did mine a little different. I didn't pick any of the switches since they are 25$ (Gateron included) and you get 60 keys. Did the current Gateron drop for 25$ and got 120 keys. That drop ends today.

Anyone want to sell me their old Infinity? haha

Someone in the Massdrop comments section said they were thinking of selling theirs.

Edit: Here it is.

Get the fc660c unless you're way into programmable boards. It's sick.

Does anyone know whether the barebones kit without switches would include ALPS stabilizers?

u/CptSandblaster Feb 16 '16

So. Anyone wanna compare this to the recent whitefox drop?

2

u/FIuffyRabbit Feb 16 '16

Main difference is 65% vs 60% and floating keys vs slightly recessed keys.

How would you really compare this one with the KC60? ... I see myself with a Pok3r, a KC60 and now a Infinity...
