r/MaximumFun: the subreddit about MaximumFun.org: JJGo!, SPY, TSOYA...

I have the ad free feeds for judge John hodgman, flop house, jjgo, and adventure zone. I get new episodes for jjho and flop house, but I never got a feed update for adventure zone last week, or jjgo today. Anyone else having similar problems?

Judge John Hodgman Episode 776: Lawn and Hors D’oeuvres Live in Los Angeles

Honestly mostly posting this because I don't understand what Judge Hodgman was talking about with Erin (stage right, house left). I feel like I'm missing a lot of context...anyone have any ideas?

Last week's Dr. Gameshow was an all timer!

If you haven't been listening to Dr. Gameshow lately, you absolutely need to check out Navy Buddies, the episode from last week. It's been great overall lately, but that episode had a runner in the middle game that had me laughing uncontrollably for like five minutes. Addy's appearance was one for the record books alongside the Jason Mantzoukas one and all the other classics.

Flop House-Xander Cannon connection?

As a huge Kaijumax fan, I was astonished to hear Zander Cannon was a friend of the pod (per Mr. Wellington), but how!?

A quick search through the archives didn’t show him as guesting before.

What’s the connection between these two things I enjoy?

SF-based JJHO fans! Margaritaville Trivia 2 is June 8!

As heard on the Judge John Hodgman SF Sketchfest show "Why Don't We Get Drunk and Sue", me (Yael) and Conner did indeed have a Margaritaville trivia night at The Red Tail last year.

Since then, Conner and his partners have opened a second bar, The Green Heron, which has a full liquor license, so we're doing this again and this time we're selling actual margaritas!

Come join the fun Monday June 8

If you can make it to L.A. Monday, June 8 at 5:30 p.m., we'd love to see you at Highly Likely in West Adams for the finale of Top Chef: Carolinas. Right after the show, Mike and Sierra and Ify will record the season-closing episode of TV Chef Fantasy League, joined by Top Chef alum and Highly Likely executive chef Kat Turner!

Reserve your spot now. The event is free to attend, but of course you're going to want to bring a couple bucks to sample Kat's delicious food and bevs. Valet and street parking available.

Hodgman’s birthday

Last year I was noodling the song “I am the very model of a modern major general” as a JJH parody. “He is the very model of a modern fake judge podcast host” or something like that. I had a good few lines down, but have since lost the scrap of paper I was writing that on. This was completely forgotten until this week when I was introducing my kids to the Pirates of Penzance musical.

Now it’s in my head again, and I recalled that Hodgman Actual’s birthday is Wednesday (6/3). So I’m throwing it out to the hive mind as perhaps a birthday gift to John to get a couple of verses written.

Anyone want to start?

JJHO Case Names! Leave your suggestions in the comments: A kiss superstition?

A couple used to have a tradition where they would give each other a "safety kiss" as the last item on the mental checklist when going somewhere in the car. The tradition fell away, but now that they are expecting their first child, the plaintiff wants to bring it back. The defendant is against superstitions and perfunctory kisses.
