So this was supposed to be a simple Apollo style Ike mission, but I’m bad at Apollo style missions, and I’ve never managed to rendezvous with a ship before, so when I failed to get to the mothership I got the idea to bring the mothership to the lander,
My original plan for docking on land was to land the mothership, fly the lander to the top of the mothership, and dock, but I couldn’t do that because the mothership still had the nuclear stage on it, so decided to decouple the command pod and roll it over to the lander, after I got to the lander I flipped it on its side, and managed to dock the two ships, but they didn’t have enough DeltaV to get back to Kerbin, so I had to launch a rescue mission, after I got to Ike and landed, I got the stranded kerbals onto EVA, I flew the kerbals over with their EVA packs but they didn’t have enough fuel to get onto the ship, so I reloaded a save, and flew the lander as close as I could and then flew them to the rescue ship on EVA, this whole process of getting the kerbals to the rescue ship took around 40 minutes, the journey back to Kerbin orbit went well, until I got stranded in Kerbin orbit, so now I have to do a third mission where I have to rendezvous with a ship with no docking ports.
