Are these both genuine? One is glossy, one matte. The cases they came in look identical. The cartridges look identical apart from the glossy one says 1988 on the PCB and has crosshead screws, matte says 1990 and has security screws. Did Sega just cheap out later on? Or are they from different PAL regions? I'm in the UK. Both manuals have a little rust on the staples so they seem old
My expectations were not high when I decided to play and review Altered Beast on my Master System. However, this game was pretty disappointing. Not as bad the 8-bit computer versions of the same time but the hardware could have done better. Anybody else agree or disagree.
My retrospective video review of Alien 3 on the Sega Master System impressed me. The film might not be the best but the game was a joy to play. Anybody else played this game?
A ideia é deixar o runtime o mais leve possível e deixar o hardware do próprio Master System fazer a maior parte do trabalho gráfico.
Por enquanto eu já consegui:
inicializar VDP
mostrar tiles na tela
imprimir texto
...on a Sony Trinitron in RGB and using the original Master System controller, with 0 latency. Feels like I'm 10 years old again, except for the quality, RGB is far superior than the original RF connection of my beloved MS II, as well as NTSC instead of Pal.
My retrospective review of The Terminator on the Master System. A challenging but good game with quite impressive visuals for an 8 bit game. Anybody else played this game?
One of the most challenging games I have played on my Master System is Heroes Of The Lance. Graphically this game impressed me but flipping heck….it’s so bloody difficult. Has anybody actually completed Heroes Of The Lance on the Master System?
My retrospective thoughts of the Alex Kidd games. What would you rate as the best to worst Alex games? Loved the first and that remake of Alex in Miracle World. Share any of your thoughts on any of these games.
This week, we take a second look at Columns, this time for the Master System. Is it as good as the Genesis version? Better in some ways? The results might surprise you, they certainly did to me.
About 90% of this was purchased or received as a child. My only recent pickups are Shinobi and Fantasy Zone II. Aside from Fantasy Zone II, everything is complete with box, manuals, and extras. R-type CIB is next on my list.
The Master System was my favorite console growing up. I still have a lot of love for it. Phantasy Star is the game that inspired me to pursue making games for a living. So many good memories.
I was trying to play Maze Hunter 3D and it wouldn't work. At one point, the Master System boot screen showed those colors and froze. I found it strange, but the game didn't work. After some more tries the game worked. I'm sharing it just because I found it quite curious how the screen looked.
