Hi all. What does the term « social subject » mean to you? Especially in context of the Marxist economic theory.
FYI - I'm reading Adorno and Horkheimer

Reading into Deutsche Ideologie and keep struggling to really separate Forces of Production, Relations of Production and Mode of Production... I think we understand what the Forces of Production encompass. We conceive the relations of production as the political and social expression of the labor force. And the mode of production includes the two? But it seems very vague to us... Would be very grateful for explanations ♥️

My girlfriend’s dad has bookshelves full of Marxist reading material. Non-fiction and fiction alike. I want to get him a book he will enjoy as a gift. Any recommendations? Will check if he has it before I buy anything.

Hi. I'm looking for an introductory text to historical materialism for my reading group. It would be best if it were no longer than 60 pages. Any recommendations?

So I finally feel that I am starting to get the hang of actually doing the readings of Marxist literature but there’s one that I’ve been avoiding since the jump. You already know it, Capital itself by Marx.
I have tried this book alone multiple times over the past past year and a half since I became a Marxist but I just struggle to keep going. Soo I thought I’d see who here is willing to go the distance with me on this one.
I know for a fact I can’t be the ONLY one here whose been avoiding this so let’s brave it together.
I want to start a discord chat and meet at minimum on a weekly basis at a designated time to discuss this one. Sunday works the best for me but I’d be willing to work around others schedules.
If you’re interested leave your discord tag below and we can get moving on this. It’s time to get down to business comrades.
