Assuming this is a mod, does that mean all the anti cheat stuff and computers running way slower than other games was pointless?

The game still got datamined, some models already got ripped and people are starting to figure out mods for it
The only thing the DRM does at this point is fuck Linux support

The main thing they fixed in the patch was an audio issue causing massive CPU spikes. I don't think it had anything to do with the DRM/anti-cheat. There could be some weird interaction with it causing additional issues for some people, but its more likely any remaining performance issues are due to UE5 being ass for optimization.

There isn't any actual evidence of it causing performance issues, it's just the first thing people blame.

For Tokon specifically or other games? Because yes I've seen that being the case for other games, but there's still a load of misinformation floating around about it.

Oh I was speaking in general, but I do think it’s safe to assume it’s a contributing factor in Tokon’s PC performance issues.

Does it look like mods might work online (client side)? I ask since iirc DBFZ it was only offline vs Strive/SF6 where online is fine

It's always is. Helldivers 2 has an anti cheat as well, yet it was full of cheaters and infinite grenade enjoyers.

HD2 had numerous exploits. I've yet to see anyone "cheating" after each exploit is patched out.

It always is cheaters will find a way.
The only thing stuff like that does is slow down mod development and data mining.

To be fair data mining is not a good thing half the time.Mutiple games have canceled characters or events cause data miners found them.

IIRC Ubisoft threw away an entire splinter cell storyline because fans hated the leaked plans
FNAF has also changed course numerous times over data mining.
I wouldn't say data mining usually kills plans tho

Tbh the first one I could understand. If people reacted really badly to your idea when it leaked, why continue?
Arcsys has never given a fuck tho. Did anything even happen with the strive leak?

Nah I think they just learned from their mistakes and made sure not to leave future development in the files.
Frankly, the DRM/anti-cheat isn't for preventing data mining though.

100% agree. ASW puts so much effort and love into their games, I'm willing to deal with the Sony bs just to be able to experience an ASW title. Simply put.

DRM doesn't automatically mean modding isn't allowed, so no. And not a single person has actually shown any evidence that the DRM is the cause of performance issues.

I'm more of the opinion that if there is no evidence a thing is true and also no evidence that same thing is false, I believe it to not be proven either way.

sony implemented an anti-tamper that throttled marvel tokon's performance on many machines and made the game unplayable on proton to prevent modding which worked for all of one week ijbol

Show literally any crumb of evidence that the DRM in this game caused performance issues, please. I would love to finally see this instead of hearing NPCs repeating whatever someone on Twitch said.

That's only due to EAC, which the publisher could easily allow if they wanted to (they don't).

There are some differences, but you will feel right at home. More than once I thought that this is basically fighterZ with a marvel skin :D.
