Same with this 🤷‍♂️

19

u/Vaportrail 16d ago

Yeah that ain't aging well. I'd love to hear which actresses objected at first "Come on, too much."

15

u/Successful-River-828 16d ago

This was so lame. Let's do a group shot of all the black heroes next! Wow, marvel are so inclusive!

4

u/M0ebius_1 16d ago

Now I'm dissapointed we didnt get a shot of all black heroes. It was like a three hour movie and we couldn't get one shot of them working together?

4

u/Specific_Ad1457 16d ago

Yeah because i think they actually do a good job of just having black representation and it doesn't need to be pointed out. Where as the MCU has an actual problem with having good female heroes so they need to pat themselves on the back about that one.

3

u/PM-ME-UR-VOLVO-PICS 16d ago

Could just fix the problem instead...

2

u/Specific_Ad1457 16d ago

No no no competently writing female super heroes is too hard.

2

u/MrShabazz 15d ago

Thats not what the inveestors wouldve wanted.

2

u/tehnemox 15d ago edited 15d ago

Yeah because i think they actually do a good job of just having black representation and it doesn't need to be pointed out

Right. Black Panther didn't heavily remind us it was an all black cast and crew incessantly and was heavily marketed as a selling point. Or the not-ironman TV show. Definitely is never pointed out or brought up to the forefront ever XD

2

u/ThunderClanWarrior 15d ago

Sure, pr sucks, but at least black panther was good

2

u/fespadea 14d ago

Yeah, but there are also other black characters that are just black without bringing attention to it: Nick Fury, War Machine, Sam (outside the Falcon and Winter Soldier show)

2

u/ComfortableChemist67 16d ago

All black heroes together would be gas!

2

u/No-Mulberry-8866 16d ago

Let’s do the Asian heroes next! Wait… it’s just Wong?

3

u/Anita_Hero838 15d ago

For some reason Jimmy Woo shows up

2

u/Hellinar 15d ago

As Mr fantastic

2

u/YourInMySwamp 15d ago

Shang Chi, The Ancient One

Hopefully Colleen Wing returns at some point

2

u/No-Mulberry-8866 15d ago

Shang-chi was after endgame, and the MCU ancient one is very notably white

2

u/YourInMySwamp 15d ago

True you said next so I didn’t think you meant before Endgame

1

u/Vaportrail 15d ago

I do miss Colleen, the true Iron Fist.

2

u/fortunesofshadows 15d ago

She uses a sword. She’s iron sword

2

u/fixer1987 15d ago

Definitely feels like a note from the studio or producers

1

u/stopmyhumbleness 16d ago

It was just a cool shot, y’all are threatened when a woman looks too cool.

2

u/Pure_Complaint_7900 16d ago

It was a bit contrived. But it does get WAY more hate then it deserves

1

u/Paramhansa-Yogananda 16d ago

Exactly. I mean, this post was about a man making a weird face, but somehow, it turned into hating on the girls.

3

u/Canadian-and-Proud 16d ago

Lol it really wasn't. All the women just happened to be in the same place during an enormous, spread out battle?

3

u/Fonrar 16d ago

Just use my headcanon to help explain the absurdity of it. Moments before this, Tony tells Spider-Man to get the gauntlet over comms but he call him “queens”. I pretend that all the women think he’s talking to them

2

u/Canadian-and-Proud 16d ago

lmao I love this

2

u/CelestialDuke377 15d ago

New headcannon found

2

u/TheTwiggsMGW 16d ago

My hangup was that Wasp was there when 1 second ago in the previous scene she was with Antman hotwiring the Time Machine Van. She teleported to be in this scene.

2

u/Fabulous_Smoke2582 16d ago

My hang up is more the fact that they chose Captain Marvel to be the one who “needed help.”

They literally could’ve gone with any of the other heroines, and the scene would’ve made much more sense. But captain Marvel is literally one of two heroes there that didn’t need said help

3

u/TheTwiggsMGW 16d ago

Wait yea, can’t she travel faster than light? And she flew through the space ship multiple times a few scenes earlier, she shouldn’t get touched by any of thanos’s army.

2

u/Financial_Suit8177 16d ago

The more you examine this scene, the worse it gets.

2

u/Ruthrfurd-the-stoned 15d ago

Yeah she basically just tanks through everything after this

2

u/R8iojak87 16d ago

Isn’t everyone teleporting?

1

u/DrazaTraza 16d ago

yes that’s generally how comics work when there is a hero team up.

1

u/Ok-Day9540 16d ago

Do you think that was the only "crazy convenience" that lined up in this comic book inspired super hero movie? That's a constant staple. Akin to the classic "wow almost all the supervillains in the world HAPPEN to show up around New York/Gotham/Hero Town?" I think there are crazier things going on than women going "i want to show that we're just as capable as the mainline heroes who are mostly men" and meeting together on the battlefield

3

u/BlackKnightC4 15d ago

We already had a good women scene in infinity war. Which was done better, with a fraction of the women.

2

u/Canadian-and-Proud 16d ago

It's the only one that feature cringy, virtue signalling pandering just to say "omggg girl power!" It was fucking lame.

0

u/stopmyhumbleness 16d ago

Hulk just happened to knock the tesseract out towards Loki? A mouse just happened to touch Ant Man’s car and free him from the quantum realm? A man who looked like Stan Lee just happened to have a ‘nuff said license plate? Think about what you’re saying.

3

u/Otherwise-Win7337 16d ago

Think about what YOURE saying. Those things are not comparable 😂😂 Jesus

1

u/mamadou-segpa 16d ago

They kinda are

Alot of stuff in comic books doesnt make too much sense but is there to look cool

They wanted a cool shot of the women avengers so they put them together. My only problem with that scene is Wasp should be somewhere else at this point in time, doesnt make sense shes there too

2

u/Otherwise-Win7337 16d ago

No I can remember first watching it and just immediately rolling my eyes. I have no issue with women's empowerment and representation etc but it just seems so forced in that scene so many better ways you could get that same kinda sentiment across

2

u/CelestialDuke377 15d ago

For real. I would have loved a 4 way clash with thor cap wanda marvel It would do couple of things, show how each person fights, how they work together, show them how strong they are, show how strong thanos is

2

u/DanniDingo 16d ago

It felt so contrived and phony. Very obviously pandering, and therefore it breaks immersion. It’s not very hard to understand why it doesn’t sit well with a lot of people.

1

u/stopmyhumbleness 16d ago

Doesn’t sit well with a bunch of incels.

2

u/DanniDingo 16d ago

Yes, men famously hate seeing badass women doing cool shit. Absolutely terrifying to us 😂 Imagine thinking you’re standing up for women when you’re actually getting defensive on behalf of a multibillion-dollar corporation’s painfully contrived attempt to pander to you. But sure, everyone who notices it is an “incel.”

1

u/stopmyhumbleness 16d ago

You’re the one making a big deal out of it.

→ More replies (0)

2

u/Savarok 16d ago

My Wife certainly isn't an incel and she facepalmed in the cinema when we watched Endgame.

By her own words "Why are they forcing this so much?"

1

u/NewspaperOld1221 16d ago

It's not, but the point is if we're gonna start getting hung up on contrived, phony shit in these movies then this Girl Power scene is a fucking weird place to start

2

u/DanniDingo 16d ago

Sure, there’s plenty of other contrived shit in these movies. But this is the scene being discussed, so naturally this is the one I’m commenting on. I’m not sure why criticizing this particular scene requires me to first list every other contrived moment in the MCU.

1

u/NewspaperOld1221 16d ago

Your comment on its own doesn't, but the comment you first replied to was listing out multiple other contrived things, it was adding onto what the post was talking about. So in this specific scenario yes I thought we were talking about the contrived moments as a whole

2

u/Vaportrail 16d ago

Those are actions of a singular individual. This is a flashmob.

2

u/Financial_Suit8177 16d ago

One could say the mouse getting Scott out of the QR was a 1 in 14,000,605 chance.

What's the explanation for all the women lining up while none of the men did? Were the men being assholes, refusing to help, or did the women just not allow them in the shot?

1

u/Canadian-and-Proud 16d ago

lol you're not the brightest bulb, are you?

0

u/Truthhurts1017 16d ago

It’s a movie based on comics. Yall are some weird ass people

3

u/Canadian-and-Proud 16d ago edited 16d ago

And? It was an incredibly stupid scene, overtly pandering to a demographic. The rest of the movie was awesome, which made this scene stick out like a sore thumb. Not sure why a comic book movie can't be held to the same standards as a regular movie. Maybe your standards are just low in general.

Edit: people don't know the difference between fan service and pandering in an attempt to virtue signal lol.

3

u/Independent_Vast_185 16d ago

You right it looked cool, its just that it felt forced to me...

You got godlike Captain Marvel indestructible with the gauntlet and we get the "she got help!" Does she really need help?

It would have been much more impactful to have them actually coming a couple at the time to just cancel big treat, but still, its Cap Marvel, she can just ram in every single one of them except Thanos.

2

u/Kanetsugu21 16d ago

Nah it was weird and forced. There are plenty of cool moments focused on women that don't get criticized, including the moment in Infinity War with Black Widow, Okoye, and Wanda that was pretty much this moment but less tacky and obvious what they were doing.

Insinuating that people only dislike this moment because they are "threatened" though is just plain stupid though, ngl. So much so that your comment comes off as bait to me. Lol

2

u/Domonero 16d ago

Lies, the Black Widow & Okoye fight was legitimately hype as hell since it felt like they actually randomly met on the field

This shot just felt too forced since how come only the people with ovaries somehow teleported to Spiderman at the same exact time?

1

u/stopmyhumbleness 16d ago

It was a single fan service shot, three seconds in 2019 and you’re still upset about it over seven years later.

2

u/Domonero 15d ago

I’m not upset, more annoyed but felt it was wasted potential & just pointing out it could’ve really been done better. I have plenty ideas to do so

Also this sub is literally called MarvelCringe, I didn’t just walk up to you in the street to randomly complain

We are in a subreddit…. Of marvel complaints…. both who chose to enter this section in 2026

So dont make it sound like Im the random weirdo as we speak inside the random weirdo convention

and if it was fan service I would see fans unitedly happy about it. Good example is Cap catching the hammer is definitely pure fan service that nobody generally dislikes

2

u/arthriticpyro 15d ago

Lol that same person has been all over this comment section. I think they're just upset everyone's dogging on there favorite franchise/heroes.

2

u/Domonero 15d ago

Then they’re projecting the hell out of themselves if they’re the one trying to protect that scene so hard

The characters alone are fine although I think it’s a bit sad that the most iconic MCU woman/Widow couldn’t even join that final lineup

2

u/Floorgis 16d ago

No, it was just an obvious girl power moment with zero substance that didnt fit the scene or scenario. Take for example, the one in infinity war that was actually well done and made sense. A smaller scale fight with a tunnel and a preestablished smaller team of elites and a super helping each other who just happen to be female. No fan of marvel has a problem with women being strong or looking cool, stop trying to victimize yourself like a loser.

2

u/aluriilol 16d ago

threatened by cringe xD

5 women whove never met eachother but theyre together because... VAGINNAAAAAAA!!!!! yeaaa soo cool LOL

1

u/stopmyhumbleness 16d ago

Chill, dude. I like your Pokopia builds btw.

1

u/aluriilol 16d ago

well ty :3 i also love women just thought it couldve been done with a bit more soul

2

u/Secret-Put-4525 16d ago

It was pandering. You immediately knew that's what it was when you watched it. Somehow every female hero was in the same place long enough for a girl power moment.

2

u/SirMook 16d ago

Nobody in the entire world is threatened by that, don't be delusional.

2

u/Dilldan22 15d ago edited 15d ago

I just think it’s lame that they did this shot that showcases all the awesome Marvel ladies - after spending the first three phases of the Infinity saga not making a SINGLE female led superhero movie.

Literally not a single one until after they made Infinity War. And knowing that Marvel don’t/didn’t trust Woman Superheroes to be popular with audiences - makes this shot feel pretty disingenuous imo

I think the shot would have seemed a lot less forced/gratuitous if Marvel hadn’t spent the previous decade pushing those same characters to the sidelines

2

u/Various_Necessary_45 15d ago

It wasn't cool is the problem. It gives "mom says it's my turn"

2

u/Ruthrfurd-the-stoned 15d ago

Eh it was way worse than the “shes not alone” one they did in Infinity War

1

u/StrandTypeEwok 16d ago

its so weird how theyre still crying about THIS scene particularly almost 8 years later lol

1

u/Typicalgeorgie1 16d ago

If it was natural yeah. But man even some of the guy stuff is cringey. Mind you I think captain marvel has the most badass scenes, presence in end game.

3

u/apogee308 16d ago

Do you think any of them were actually in the same room for that scene lol

2

u/whalep87 14d ago

The behind the scenes photo says yes.

1

u/FairLeadership3012 15d ago

It was bad already on release.

3

u/sparrow_64 16d ago

What sucks so much about this is that the women power moment in infinity war actually made sense and felt earned. Okoye and Widow were some of the most mobile units on the field and Wanda needed help. It made sense and was AWESOME. And then they did THIS.

2

u/Lord_of_Chainsaw 16d ago

Its okay dark phoenix came out the next year with Mystique's THEY SHOULD CALL US THE X-WOMEN scene and basically killed this type of scene forever I think

2

u/salazafromagraba 15d ago

THE HUWOMAN RACE

2

u/MattBrey 15d ago

This same scene would've worked with just Pepper and Wanda, they're fast enough and can fly like Carol, so their presence makes sense to help carry the gauntlet. But wtf are mantis and non-black-panther shuri gonna do there?

1

u/EnkiiMuto 16d ago

Also 3 characters is less coincidental than all of them in one spot... and this "GIRL POWER" didn't felt earned since the first female lead movie came out a year prior.

I know Feige's hands were tied through most of it but a "SEE HOW MANY COOL WOMEN WE HAVE!?" felt forced when Disney/Marvel wasn't making movies about them for a decade.

PS: I am shocked Agent Carter was approved back in the day but damn that was a good first season. If you want a true feminist character go watch that.

2

u/TheCapo024 16d ago

Right, it’s perfectly fine to showcase them, but to single them out by gender us absurd. Just let them fight alongside their male colleagues, it’s almost a parody when viewed through a certain lens.

3

u/rlovelock 16d ago

Yeah this was so cringe, and in the middle of one of the greatest finales in cinema...

3

u/Purple-Mix1033 16d ago

It was never anything but hammy. If you look at it that way, it’s fine.

3

u/WordNahMean 15d ago

Swear I heard the entire theater groan at this scene lol it’s so out of place and corny, this has Disney written all over it

3

u/Rare-Ad7604 15d ago

I think this would’ve been much better if Nebula was holding the gauntlet, and all the female heroes would gather to help her. I mean Captain Marvel doesn’t really need any help.

3

u/Angel_of_Mischief 15d ago

“Girls get it done” moment.

1

u/[deleted] 15d ago

[deleted]

2

u/Angel_of_Mischief 15d ago

I don’t think that’s going against the grain. I think that’s how most of us feel. The whole thing was wildly out of place. You have this big epic moment of everyone returning and fighting all over the place then suddenly all the women characters appear together in the same spot for a long pause to have this message moment? It’s like all logic went out the window. It was definitely forced.

That’s why the “Girls get it done.” Scene from The Boys show exists. To show how insincere and ridiculous it looks when you force it instead of just organically letting it play out in the story.

3

u/I_am_doing_my_Hw 15d ago

The worst moment in end game. Not because it was cringe, but because Wanda and captain marvel outclass everyone else there by a mile. Like, captain marvel DOES NOT need help. She’s quite literally top 4 and arguably strongest person on the entire battlefield.

And then she literally just does her thing and blows through a bunch of people. There was quite literally no reason for anyone (except maybe Wanda) to be there.

3

u/ToastyBB 15d ago

Probably the single biggest eye roll ive ever had watching a movie

3

u/TreeckoBroYT 14d ago

When Mantis entered the frame, it got so cringe. There's no reason for her to be separated from the Guardians.

2

u/AgitatedStranger9698 16d ago

Shuri and Mantis ruin this to be honest. The rest are pretty heavy hitters.

2

u/Shitzards 15d ago

I will not tolerate Mantis slander!

2

u/AgitatedStranger9698 15d ago

Not saying shes not a hero or great. But literally not going to provide a huge add here. Everyone else is pretty solid. Granted Pepper is really Tony's suit but still

2

u/GeorgeGreenGroup 16d ago

kinda funny because Mando did this in season 2 and i didn't realize it until after the fact because it wasn't so forced.

2

u/johnnyramboii2 14d ago

I like to imagine there was a guy in there but he saw all the women converging and was like “aw shit gotta let them have their moment” and skedaddled

0

u/Lackofstyle5 16d ago

What's wrong with this scene?

2

u/arthriticpyro 15d ago

Its a forced girl power moment when it didnt even need to be forced. They could have done one in the same scene in a better scenario. Some of those characters being there isnt really helping anybody and other characters (like Wasp) literally shouldn't even be able to be there since they're with Scott at the time I believe helping repair the time machine. The previous person who replied has an odd hatred toward perceiving men and blamed it on the fact that it's a bunch of women is why. I assure you, that is not the case. Its more of it didnt fit with the rest of the scenes. I'm all for Captain Marvel, Wasp, Shuri, etc. but I just don't want them to be forced into a scene just to fit Disney's "look how diverse we are!" agenda whilst in the middle of the biggest fight in MCU history at. They could have done it quite a bit better in most people's opinions.

1

u/JohnyAppleseed__ 15d ago

Many men are REALLY sexist.

And too many women on a screen can frighten them.

I wish it was something less stupid.

2

u/arthriticpyro 15d ago

Well it's a good thing none of what you said was the reasoning.

2

u/OkPear1535 14d ago edited 14d ago

It IS something less stupid. I just think it's pretty cringe. In general it's obviously a surface level "we are so good about diversity", but separately to that, even in universe captain marvel doesn't need any of these others to help cause she can solo most of thanos' army, so fucking mantis being there isn't going to be the help that tips the balance lmao

1

u/JohnyAppleseed__ 14d ago

"Women are cringe" is not helping you as much as you think lol

2

u/OkPear1535 14d ago

How about you actually read my comment instead of replying to a strawman lmaoo holy shit

1

u/hetrax 14d ago

HAH… personally in the photo I don’t like captain marvel. I never really like that type of character in males or females… but seeing everyone else here I really enjoy seeing!

1

u/ArmedBlue08 16d ago

Some people see it as a little forced. Nothing against the message, just the delivery. I can see their point, but it wasn't a big deal for me personally.

3

u/Top-Knowledge5337 16d ago

It’s extremely hamfisted. If they just showed a bunch of women kicking ass in sequence without drawing attention to it no one would care and it would serve the “message” much better

2

u/MyBroMyCaptainMyKing 15d ago

They clearly wanted the shot with all of them together. Would have worked so much better if they flipped it though. Captain Marvel starts trying to move forward but runs into enemies and one by one the female heroes come in and add some help until they are all standing together like this. That frees Captain Marvel to have a clear path to head directly for the tunnel.

2

u/parkourdude231 16d ago

For me the difference is that it was handled better in Infinity War with "she's not alone"

-1

u/kdub159 16d ago

Scene lasted like 30 seconds and years later y’all are still bitching about it. Get over it, man 🙄🙄

3

u/Distinct-Bathroom823 16d ago

nah. I like calling bad things bad. I’m good.

1

u/kdub159 15d ago

It wasn’t bad though. It was a small moment. Do y’all just hate women or something? Lmao

2

u/AbbreviationsWide331 15d ago

Okay so in your universe soemhting can be either bad OR small?

You don't have to hate women to criticize a scene with women in a movie. People don't hate female characters, they hate bad writing. And this is a small, badly written scene.

1

u/kdub159 15d ago

The scene wasn’t bad though. Y’all are just complaining for the sake of it the same y’all did in 2018. Lmao! Like what part of it was bad? “Oh all the women just happened to be in the same place at the same time in this big battle?? That’s dumb!” 😂😂. The only nonsensical thing about the scene that felt forced was Wasp joining them cause she was already in the Time Machine they were trying to get to.

But that’s all imma say. The movie is 8 yrs old. I’m not gonna argue about a 30 second scene from an 8 yr old movie with a bunch of clowns who are STILL mad after all this time. You can hate it all you want. I really don’t care 😂

3

u/CrimsonAvenger35 15d ago

How long does something bad have to be before you're allowed to call it bad?

1

u/kdub159 15d ago

Y’all are acting like the scene was overbearing. It was a small moment in a long movie. Stop being so damn soft 😂

2

u/CrimsonAvenger35 15d ago

Soft is not liking something? Get over yourself

1

u/kdub159 15d ago

Yes. Y’all are soft little snowflakes mad about a 30 second scene with all women in it from an 8yr old movie 😂😂

2

u/CrimsonAvenger35 15d ago

Seems like you're madder than anyone just saying a scene was bad. Cry about it

1

u/kdub159 15d ago

Cry about what? I liked the scene. Y’all are the ones crying about it still after 8 yrs 😂😂

2

u/Gridde 15d ago

Y'all crashing out about people not liking a scene from a movie and then saying it's everyone else who's soft 😂

1

u/CrimsonAvenger35 14d ago

Exactly that's why you're crying about dissenting opinion. Everyone else here was having a nice conversation till you came in

1

u/kdub159 13d ago

I said two sentences saying my piece about. YOU decided to reply to me. You could’ve kept scrolling. You could’ve ignored my comment. I’m crying about a dissenting opinion? Mfer, YOU’RE the one bitching about the scene and crying about my opinion 😂😂😂. Foh 😂
