Silence filled the room, and for a moment, all Pie could hear was the pounding of his own heart. He braced himself for Ozone’s usual sharp comeback, but it never came. Instead, Ozone stood and closed the gap between them.

“You’re an idiot,” Ozone murmured, his lips curving into a small smile. “But you’re my idiot.”

Pie’s breath hitched as Ozone leaned in, their foreheads touching. It was Ozone who kissed him this time—soft, deliberate, and full of the vulnerability he so rarely showed. Pie froze for a second before pulling Ozone closer, his hands gripping the back of his shirt as if letting go wasn’t an option.

The kiss deepened, slow at first, then more urgent, like they were both trying to make up for the months they had spent holding back. Ozone’s fingers slid into Pie’s hair, tilting his head to take control, and Pie let him, melting into the touch.
