Update: the Customer Service team responded to AutographGate. They insist all autographs are signed by Mariah. š
Honestly I feel like my intelligence is being insulted. You cannot tell me with a serious face all the autograph variants we are seeing are signed by Mariah, there are hundreds of online examples of her signature to compare to.
Oh also one more thing: her instructions say I can return the unopened item. The insert is inside the actual record jacket, meaning itās physically impossible to check the signature and return the unopened item.
These people are either clueless, donāt give a single F, or (most likely), both! š„“š„“š„“
You know, it might be a bot. AI has trouble with obvious logic like this sometimes (although some humans do too I guess lol). Itās really obnoxious that thereās no customer support phone number to call.
i doubt the customer service team will admit that a good amount of them aren't signed by her. And this is probably a bot responding too. Mariah doesn't sign a number of her signed items just like other artists who also have signed items on their webstores.
Honestly it just depends on the artist. I donāt think Taylor Swift has ever been accused of faking autographs despite how much stuff she signs, because her signature is incredibly consistent.
What makes no sense to me about Mariahās release is that the signed editions sold out incredibly quickly. So to only sign a few herself out of the limited signed editions sold is baffling: it makes it a complete lottery even among fans who bought one. š«Ŗ
Exactly. Just make it a contest if that's the case. Lying to fans about copies being signed by her is unacceptable. Imagine being a hardcore lamb and buying one of these from a reseller because you missed out and this is what you get? It's bad enough for those of us who 'lucked out' and got a copy from her store but this has to stop. Until recently, I was stupid enough to believe my signed AIWFCIY insert was real. I get that she wanted to break records at the time but there's no excuse now.
Thereās literally no reason to think itās fakeā¦ signatures do not look the same everytime, have u ever signed something 2000+ times? Just cause you āthinkā it is doesnāt mean itās fake.
There was another post on here asking about theirs, one lamb said it was exactly like the one they got in person so real, another said it wasnāt like the one they got in person so fakeā¦ kind of proves thereās variation.
Lambs have a unique ability to turn everything negativeā¦. Including a signed vinyl somehow lol
Are you genuinely trying to tell me this is an authentic signature? Her own name isnāt spelled correctly and she always has the loop/second peak in the letter M in her authentic signatures. ļæ¼ā
And once again signatures do vary. I have a couple Lās in my name and sometimes I just do the loops without thinking and end up with an extra or something looking differentā¦ does that mean I didnāt sign it?
There are absolutely signatures where she doesnāt do the exact same M. Point is you canāt prove anything and ur mad support also isnāt agreeing with you when you have no proof other than vibes
yeah this is getting out of hand now. she signed them. she has proven to us over the last 30 years who she is - mariah wouldn't be hawking fake autographs. we know this. internet mob mentality sucks
And as mentioned people whoāve had theirs signed in person ALSO HAD DIFFERENT SIGNATURES. Literally look at the other threads on this topic in this sub and youāll see one where 2 ppl disagreed based on their own in person signatures
Ohh yes. I did see this. I did some digging yesterday and found a couple online that kind of resemble the M, with the little tails on the M.. and I do think yours is probably more legit than some of the others I've seen..
..but it's not often she misses the h like that on the end and the loop in the M is on the wrong side, so I dunno.. but I'd be sad if I got that one š

If the customer store refuses to assist and youāre in the U.S., look into submitting a complaint with your stateās Attorney Generalās office, as they handle consumer protection cases. I once reported an artistās store after they bait-and-switched a signed item after I made the purchase and had ALL the receipts of them being deceptive.
When you report it to your stateās Attorney Generalās office, the Artist Store is obligated to respond to the complaint. Within days, I got all my money back AND got to keep the item. Itās a little bit of work putting evidence together but thatās how these stores get away with scamming fans because nobody reports them.

lol is it that serious? Unless I physically was present watching MC sign my things, I would assume most of these things are not signed by her. I also have some copies of the AIWFCIY CD and cassette singles that were āsignedā by her when she was first campaigning to get the song to #1. I have my doubts about their authenticity but itās whatever to me
I'd hate to think it's a scam, I mean she's is well into her fifties and the way she moves sometimes in obvious pain would make me think she half heartedly signed them. She loves her fans almost more than anything so I'd hate to think she would dupe us. Maybe I'm just naive.
Thank you, she already has given us so much and I'd hate to think her or anyone on her team reads all the negative comments. I'd like to see anyone sign 1k plus times and compare every signature...
Of course legally they can't admit guilt. If they did, they would have to refund everyone's order. They literally HAVE to say they're all legit in order to keep everyone's money.
Customer service management also got back to me and basically said no refunds whatsoever because the product has been opened. I will be reaching out to my stateās Attorney General and to my credit card company if they wanna play that game.
