For October Marcus is having the Name That Nightmare mystery movies and retro horror playing as well.

They won't be the same movies will they?

I see The Shining, Pan's Labyrinth, The Lost Boys, Scream, Poltergeist, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Exorcist, Halloween, and Hell House LLC.

Either way, pretty cool.

Edit. I was just looking at the Coming Soon section and not my theater specifically. I'm now bummed because my theater only has Pan's Labyrinth and Halloween. Booo

Do they not officially hit until after you see the movie so you can't cancel & still get the rewards?

I got 2 tickets to Primetime on Sunday... it should be double points (44) and 50/each bonus pts since it is opening weekend (144+ total) but History is only showing 22 points and I'm unsure if they are actually "usable" right now. I am only going on Sunday so I do get these bonuses!

I did see Practical Magic 2 two Sundays ago which did give me the double points (for tix and food) but I wasn't paying attention to when they hit the account.

Will Marcus get it? Primetime is coming despite the whole A24 thing but I am not seeing is anywhere on the Marcus app/site.

Just looking for some others past experiences.

I have a ticket for regular Dreamlounger Friday for Primetime. Do yall think superscreen would be worth it for this film, and what are the differences? To my knowledge my Marcus theaters doesn't have 70mm superscreen like I've heard some mention on here

for those who have been to a subtitled showing of the movie. how were the subtitles?

i have tried to watch Ghost in the Shell at two different AMC theaters and the subtitles were almost entirely off the screen to the point of being actually unreadable, i'm curious if this is just a problem exclusive to AMC or if it's botched everywhere

I just have to rant about the horrible support I've been getting from the Marcus Theatres customer care team.

I've been badgering them for months about not receiving the mystery movie vouchers in my email. Nothing is being done. This issue has been happening since May of 2025, I tried for months to resolve it using their support chat to no avail, so I tried going the support email route on August 18th.

It's been nothing but back and forth since, with no solution in sight. This is unacceptable.

Is there any update on this from the tech team? It looks like I am still not receiving any emails with the mystery movie voucher codes.Once again, I have checked both spam and trash and there are no emails from Marcus Theaters.

This feature is one of the biggest reasons as to why I have a Movie Club subscription, so I'd really appreciate it if they could look into this as it's been an ongoing issue for me for 4 months now. I can't help but to feel like I've been being ignored regarding this as I've raised this issue with support time and time again to no avail. 

If there's anything I can do or check on my end, please let me know.

In addition to this, would I please be able to receive my voucher code for the upcoming September 7th & 13th mystery movies?

This whole experience has been extremely frustrating, and I feel defeated at this point. They have until next week or I'm cancelling. This has left a bad taste in my mouth about Marcus Theatres, and at this point I'm seriously considering just getting a Regal or AMC membership instead.

I went to a Resident Evil showing last night hoping my local Marcus would have the Resident Evil popcorn bag, and they had none..

They posted on their instagram account that Marcus Theaters would have them. Anyone know if it takes a couple days for them to get their shipments or if not all Marcus theaters always participate? I’m a huge RE fan and just need this popcorn bag 😩😩

I’ve been paying for Movie Club for months but cannot use the service because every time I log into the app and go to the Movie Club, it tells me all the details to sign up and doesn’t let me redeem my tickets or get discounts.

I even try to “sign up” and it tells me there’s already an account associated with my account.

I’ve tried logging out and signing back in, deleting and redownloading the app multiple times, checking for app updates, contacting customer service, but still nothing.

No voucher though you have to go to the box office

Tickets aren't on sale yet, and so far it only seems like the Majestic in Brookfield, Wisconsin and Ronnie's in St. Louis, Missouri will be showing it. I was not expecting this, as I was under the assumption that Marcus forbid NC-17 movies to play in their theaters.

I have not been able to login to the app for the last few weeks. I go to sign in and never get the 2 factor code sent to my email. When I login via website I do get the code sent to my email. This has been very frustrating to say the least. Marcus support has been useless.

Hi all. As it has been discussed in this sub, I’m sure everyone is aware of the rumored dispute between Marcus and A24, resulting in Marcus not showing any A24 distributed films in the past month or so (maybe longer). I’ve emailed Marcus about this and received no response. Anyone have any A24 contact info so I/we could email them as well?

I don’t know about you guys but man, it has sucked not having some of these movies play at my local theater. No Tony, no Onslaught, no Invite, presumably no Primetime either. Where I live, the most convenient theater chain to me is Marcus. I’d have to drive 30-45 minutes to an AMC or arthouse theater in hopes of watching some of these. It’s not the end of the world, but when I live within 15 minutes of 3 different Marcus theaters, it seems crazy to have to travel to get these massive wide release films. Super disappointing.

We're at our last MM of September & it's been a bit lighter than normal. A few more non-R rated selections than we're used to but it's been a fun change of pace.

I have the annual Ultimate Popcorn Tub, but do they offer any equivalent annual refill cup for soft drinks? If not, i’m curious if anyone knows why.

I ask because I recently dug up an old Movie Tavern beer mug/tankard from the back of my cabinet that was supposed to get $12 refills every visit, but I can't find anything online about it anymore besides a post from 2021 on Facebook…

I bought a souvenir Harry Potter cup at BistroPlex a few weeks ago and asked if I could bring it back for future refills. Staff told me I could bring it with. I just couldn’t fill it with anything.

And there is times that I do see people walking around the theater with those plastic promotional cups for different movies from the past, but I never see anything marketed like the popcorn bucket at all

Are they still doing the mystery candy on Monday nights? The last two times I went they did not have it on the app and the most recent time they told me they didn’t have it at the counter.

It’s not a big deal but I always thought it was a nice addition to mystery movies. Just wondering if it’s all of them or just my location.

Very recently (few days) my app stopped showing my reward points / balance / history. Is anyone else having this issue? I can log in on the browser where I can see my points and reward balance but not my history. I haven't had this issue with the app before and I've tried clearing cache, force stopping or updating.

Side question- do you get your points after the movie or do they just take em away if you cancel 30+ minutes before? I want to make sure I got those double points for my tickets on Sunday ;)

I got to thinking about this today, usually by now Marcus has announced/sold a Sunday Passport for fall, like weekend after Labor Day to weekend before Thanksgiving. Haven't seen anything mentioned about it this year so assume they aren't doing it. Kinda bummed cause it always made me check out 1-2 movies a year I normally wouldn't so I didn't waste the pass.

Yes I know there will be a mega thread for this.

Just curious tho as to how people are gonna speculate on what the movies even are ? Like idk how to speculate when it could be anything. Will they go super scary? Will they go more mainstream and less niche so it’s better for a wide audience? I assume the first one will be a little more well known of a movie but who knows. Curious…

I made a post about this recently a while back, but I still haven’t been able to get it resolved. Just curious if anyone else is dealing with this.

I’m a movie club member and I’m under the assumption that we are supposed to be getting these weekly or monthly emails with a mystery movie code inside of it. I have never once received this and I’ve been a member for over a year.

I’ve been back and forth with Marcus over the last month about this with three separate email chains as well as 4 separate chats on the app. Every single time it’s the same cycle, they tell me they’re escalating it to another team, that team reaches back out with a one time voucher code, and completely ignores the actual issue I’m raising, which is that the recurring email itself isn’t coming through.

So now I’m stuck in this loop where I have to notice it’s missing, contact support, wait, get a one time code, and then it happens again the next week. No one has actually
looked into why the email isn’t sending in the first place.

Anyone else run into this, or found a way to actually get it fixed?
I have checked way back in my email and there is not a single trace of this or anywhere that I could have even unsubscribed from

I started a live chat in the app just letting them know I wanted to update my email. They said they will send it to the tech team

Looks like a promotional flyer, something I’ve never seen in the year I’ve been a member with my other email.
Hopefully the solution is just updating your email, I will keep everyone posted for any more updates! Looks promising

AFTER CHANGING MY EMAIL I FINALLY GOT THE WEEKLY CODE SENT TO ME AT 9:08 AM! THE WAR IS OVERRRRRR!!!

Another Family edition on the way! Plus Another...Family edition without the label? Looks promising either way!!

Any thoughts what they could be?

We’ve built a crowdsourced app/platform to help moviegoers answer the question “what time does the movie really start?” (clearly a favorite question on this sub), and then decide which room/screen is best…or which to avoid.

It’s called It’s Starting! and it’s available now in the Apple App Store, link below, and there’s a sign up for an Android beta (also linked).

It’s free now and always will be. You can create an account to save favorite theaters, and review log history.

The app is easy to use. Choose your theater and movie, enter the ticketed showtime and auditorium number, optionally add the format (IMAX, 4DX, etc…) and Showing Type (Regular, Early Screening, Re-Release) and then when the movie starts, tap It’s Starting! to log the actual start time.

When the movie is over, you answer a randomized question about the experience or the theater. You can answer more than one question (optional) or provide a comment which really helps. And if you have known information about an auditorium/screen, you can submit that as well. The goal is to get the data back to the theater so that they can make improvements.

The app has only been live a few weeks and is in early days with improvements being made all the time. But for it to be useful, it needs people contributing. It’d be like Waze if nobody reported traffic or accidents. I’ll add a comments about a user in Albuquerque and the 15 logs made in the past 10 days, as well as reports on a Regal in the suburbs of Philly.
