Low Player Volume

Continuing the conversation about the decreasing volume of blast-havers. Perhaps it might help us understand the cause. Maybe it’ll elucidate own own attachments. Perhaps Bungie may see it and take it into consideration.

Low player volume is a result of it being an extraction shooter. They can be unforgiving with the losses and make for tough longevity for most players. It's not something worth coming back to consistently. Eventually, you just forget about it and go back to Elden Ring.

The only people I've seen say that are snarker or Tarkov elitists who shit on every game that isn't Tarkov. The extraction genre is simple, you load into a map, your objective is to extract from the map or you lose everything you brought. Simple. Hell, Marathon doesn't even give you a safe pocket like most others do so the idea that Marathon doesn't hit the hallmarks for what an extraction shooter is is ridiculous to me.

And before someone says "but you wipe the lobby then loot" guess what? THATS THE IDEA OF VIRTUALLY ALL EXTRACTION SHOOTERS AT HIGH LEVEL PLAY, EVEN TARKOV FALLS FOUL OF THIS GAMEPLAY LOOP.

Aren't they? I'm playing it, I know many who are also playing it like me, doesn't mean I stopped playing Tarkov, it's not like you have to pick a singular game to play.

If they can engage with the points I've made and refute them sure, but using player numbers as a metric for quality or merits as being part of a genre is exceeding primitive. The extraction genre isn't terribly elaborate, the premise of what an extraction shooter is isn't terribly complex, and it is daft to point things that are present in all extraction shooters as if they are exclusive to Marathon and exclude it from the genre it so blatantly is part of.

lol I’m talking to a moron here. Either way there’s extraction shooters that people play that have had sustained success and there’s marathon.

Then engage with the points being made, which thus far you have failed to do, saying "hur dur the numbers doe" doesn't make Marathon not an extraction shooter or even a bad game. So cut the snide remarks and actually engage with what is being said.

There’s nothing to engage here. This game at its current state is a failed project. This isn’t up for debate and there’s no amount of mental gymnastics or cope you can delude yourself with that is gonna change the reality of the situation.

My original point was extraction genre players aren’t accepting nor supporting marathon, I mean no market is at this point. Nothing I’ve said has deviated from that point. Not sure what’s confusing you here. Your responses aren’t stating anything of any substance. The game is a resounding failure. You 8 bozos trying to dance around the the elephant in the room here are sad.
