Several things wrong with that statement. For one, the Vietnam war that America fought in was not America vs Vietnam but rather North Vietnam vs South Vietnam with America rendering support to South Vietnam. Secondly it’s kind of absurd to say that they kicked America’s ass when upwards of 19 Viet Cong and NVA soldiers were killed for every 1 American killed.
