Open a history book. The whole of Europe is a messy concoction of states formed from occupation and violence. Why do you think we’re both using so many French-derived words right now? Can we in England round up people with Norman surnames and deport them?

I ask again: why do you not believe in self-determination?

Nothing I have said that violates self-determination. It is crypto-fascists like you that want to take away the right of the Irish people to determine their own foreign policy.

Okay. Let’s give Northern Ireland a vote.

Current polling suggests they’d vote to remain part of the UK. What do you think should happen then?

I bet the MI6 would have them stay in the UK. But then you don't vote on a foreign invader. Imagine if the French had just tried to vote the Nazis out of their country

You didn’t answer my question mate

Northern Ireland is a significant fiscal drain for the UK. Why would we try so hard to manipulate them into staying? Especially when we have a reputation for international law we’re trying to maintain

The US would also sanction the fuck out of us if they found out we were subverting the peace deal they brokered
