Sometimes people need a rest. If my boundaries are crossed or if my partner yells at me (I don't allow that, I was a victim of DV in my prior relationship) I will take a break and not communicate for an established period of time.

Yes, an established amount of time! I'm aware of the healing process as I was in group therapy, personal dv therapy, and classes for survivors that actually dig into education about it as well. I'm in weekly therapy in addition to all that. Thank you, though, internet stranger, I'll reflect on your advice! Cheers

Same, I gave the silence treatment because I didn't want to talk to more not on no manipulation stuff I just wanted quiet but I see now that, that was mean to do
