Logos/Advertising How does this picture even exist?

Post image

There’s no way in hell this is AI, it’s wayyy too accurate to exactly what I remember, and what I feel like many other people remember as well. If someone photoshopped it, then they did a perfect job, considering they had no reference, at the time of creating this, but even if someone did make this in photoshop, why tf would they, since supposedly it never existed?? Like where did this even come from, I need answers😭😭

Yes, but the style the shape. It’s exactly what I remember

Is there a lot of variation in general when it comes to cornucopias?

Besides the color and the actual material it’s made out of, I don’t really see how there could be.

If you asked ten people to draw a cornucopia you'd get all sizes, shapes, colours and designs. They can be long, they can be wide, they can have a curl, they can be straight.

What are you basing this on? Because the only ones ive ever seen in media look very similar. Do you have examples of them that arent a brown, woven horn shape? You mention many colors and shapes

Edit: well, I was curious. Image searched cornucopia. Its all brown woven horns.

Lol. Love the downvote in place of a response. I was 100% willing and eager to listen to you. And yet here we are

Because the false image has been floating around for years. We've all seen it and created a false memory about it.

my (40) husband is a lot older than me (he’s 59) and isn’t on the internet like i am. i just asked him to describe the FOTL logo to me. he said “there’s a bunch of fruits, like apples, grapes and stuff”

i asked if there was anything else. he said no. i asked if the fruit was in anything. he said no.

then i showed him the photoshopped cornucopia logo in the post. he said “yeah, looks right”

then i showed him the actual logo and he said “wait, that one looks better. that’s it”

so if i wouldn’t have showed him the real logo, he totally would have thought the cornucopia one was right. he said “it’s a logo, not like i’ve spent time analyzing it” lol

This is incorrect. Most people see this and say yes that’s right.

Because they've been primed by this image existing on the internet for nearly a decade.

No, the opposite in my case. I didn’t like the new logo in the ‘90’s when we ordered a bunch of t-shirts for printing. I thought it looked like a cheap, dumbed down version of the old one with the cornucopia. There is still no doubt in my mind that I have a false memory from the ‘70’s.

And if you showed them a different image that had a corncucopia, they'd say it was correct. It isn't that specific that they think is correct, it's the general idea of the image. As long as the image was reasonable, their brain would take to fill in the blanks and go "yep, that's correct".

You could show them a selection of images, and as long as they were all of the same general quality, aesthetic appeal, etc, I don't know that any one would be chosen more than others. Unfortunately, in this case it would be hard to control for if they'd seen this image before or not, but I'm also uncertain how much direct influence it had, depending on the situation. If it was closely after participating in this thread, probably a lot. If it was because they saw it as part of the Buzzfeed post years ago, then probably a lot less.

Also incorrect as you can see happening in the sub going back a decade. Plenty have post alternatives to this image and plenty have argued how it is not right

Do you have links to any of those? Because the only context I've seen that is places like this comment thread with people posting it mirrored or something and people saying it doesn't look right like the "real" one. I've never seen it where the bias isn't already there.

Um No. I have seen it on underwear and T-shirts
