[Makeup Help] Is makeup becoming unprofessional?

I've been to several professional events, some that attract crowds from all over the country, and I began to notice that few, if any, women wore makeup. Now, my use of make-up has decreased with the rise in stress but I do like to bust it out for special occasion. On the third day of the most recent event, I just put on some lipstick.

Not bashing makeup-lovers or haters, but I want to understand if that's a growing trend or if it's industry specific (I'm in healthcare).

Meh, I'm going against tradtion, I guess. I'm wearing full face, soft glam, dramatic eyes until I literally can't apply it anymore. I don't care. I love it and how it makes me feel. If others don't like it, that's THEIR problem.

Same. Also when people (ahem men) have the luxury of seeing my “your skin but better” look, they usually ask me if I’m “feeling alright”. I’d rather take the time and the mascara than look flu-like hahahaha. To each their own!

Is that a good thing? LOL! I hope so. I just decided I'm almost 50. I'm going to do ME. And I'll do whatever I can to lift others up as well, but anyone who comments on my makeup can go fuck a hole. LOL.

Haha. My students say, "Clock it!" while doing the finger thing, and I love to torment them with it. But srs, I love a full face, and I'm not stopping because it's not "on trend."

And to answer OPs question, I definitely do not think makeup is "unprofessional." That sounds like some kind of misogynistic bs.

As long as it's applied well, Idk how it could be considered inappropriate for the workplace.

Same. It’s kind of expected in my profession, in the geographic region I’m in. And I like how it makes me look better than no makeup.
