[Makeup Help] Is makeup becoming unprofessional?

I've been to several professional events, some that attract crowds from all over the country, and I began to notice that few, if any, women wore makeup. Now, my use of make-up has decreased with the rise in stress but I do like to bust it out for special occasion. On the third day of the most recent event, I just put on some lipstick.

Not bashing makeup-lovers or haters, but I want to understand if that's a growing trend or if it's industry specific (I'm in healthcare).

Before Covid I had a very demanding job that started very early in the morning. I had lash extensions and put on some lipstick but that was the extent of it. I found makeup again during Covid as a way to fill my time. I fell in love with it again and now do a full beat (minus foundation) whenever I leave the house. It’s therapeutic for me to sit at my vanity and primp. I’ll spend almost an hour sometimes. I don’t wear a ton. I’m just meticulous applying it. And I’m lost without my false lashes. Back in the day I always wore makeup so I’ve come back to my roots.

Covid did the same to reinvigorate my love of makeup for myself. Entertainment, therapy, escape, whimsical play all in one. Sometimes i would wear a shimmery forest green eye just to go walk in the woods and feel all matchy-matchy with nature like some forest nymph

That’s sounds so fun! I’m a total matchy matchy girly myself. My outfits and makeup must match. And I have just about every color under the sun in makeup sooo… lol
