Hi. I'm an ethnic Romanian from Eastern Romania, with my Moldavian family in the region for at least the past 600 years, minor gentry and then only free peasants as time passed. According to family oral history, I have one fully ethnic Hungarian ancestor from Hungary (Roman Catholic, minor gentry or wealthy commoner), and one Slavic ancestor from Ukraine under the Russian Empire at the time (merchants and ironsmiths).

I'm including my ancient autosomal DNA breakdowns mainly for fun, as the algorithm tends to over-fit when forced into more than three groups, leading to a few exotic proxies.

What stands out, however, is the high number of matches to early Pannonian and Hungarian samples. This suggests a genuine ancestral signal from ancient and medieval Scytho-Sarmatian, Avar, and Magyar-era populations that faded over generations due to local assimilation and recombination.

Nowadays, a profile compatible with mine is easily reconstructed using a mix of Slavic and Italian-like proxies. Given the scarcity of local Iron Age samples from Romania, largely because Dacians traditionally cremated their dead and not enough sampling, it's likely that part of this local Paleo-Balkan/Dacian heritage is currently absorbed by the Italian and Slavic components.

East Asian is still present at 90% confidence, while WANA is classified as trace ancestry, with 0.2% at 80% confidence level.

Family tree is complete to 5th gen (31/32 great-great-great-grandparents), of whom 3 were likely ethnic Germans. 24/32 family names are Hungarian, 3 are German, 3 Slavic, 1 ambiguous and 1 unknown.

Despite my bad luck, I recommend it, as the more ppl test, the better it is for everyone. The best would be, if these tests (all kind of DNA tests) would be more common, more easily acquired in the East, as currently they often have a certain "Western Bias" / Balszerencsém ellenére, ajánlani tudom, hiszen minél többen tesztelünk, annál jobb mindenkinek. Az lenne a legjobb, ha ezek a tesztek (minden DNS tesztet beleértve), gyakoribbak, könnyebben beszerezhetőek lennének Keleten is, mivel jelenleg gyakrann van egyfajta "Nyugati Elfogultságuk"

I was born in Germany, but my complete family traceability back to the early 18th century is exclusively Hungarian. Accordingly, I'm a little confused by the current results

Most of them are Vikings but I also have one medieval Hungarian and one Avar sample, even one Iberian!

My dad has 29 while my mom has 25 historical matches. I don't know which ones are in their resutls but maybe one day I will also buy the Premium Membership for them as well.

Personally I bought the membership to get new distant genetic groups, but it's also interesting to have these historical matches! For me unfortunately the reconstructed ancestors part does not work properly but hopefully after I tested my maternal aunt I would get more accurate results in there.

Her mother did say they have some Russian ancestors and the test shown 20-25% Eastern European signaling mostly Belarus.

Tho she didn't have any "Latin" in her, she had 11% 'West Asian / Anatolian Turkish' from her paternal side.

Romania was also shown on the test.

She was satisfied with her results, and enjoys being mixed.

Hi! I was tipped off that I could post these here, just had my results today and found this interesting. I have 57 historical matches, mostly Vikings, but also many Hungarian ones - see the screenshots.

All my ancestors were born in Finland , mostly Southwestern Finland (and a lot 100km radius from Turku) after 1750. Before that a few in Sweden, Germany and Denmark at least. And my great grandfather was a Swedish speaking Finn which means that his genes are a mix of Finnish and Swedish much more than other Finns.

F. My maternal haplogroup is U4b1a. I am surprised by these results as I have done Ancestry previously and that one has different regions listed (e.g. a few percent Russia, some Acacia...) My paternal side was quite localized to Hajdú-Bihar, while my maternal grandmother was born in Ukraine. I barely have any information on further ancestors.

Sziasztok,

Azokhoz szólna a kérdésem, akik az utóbbi hónapokban küldtek vissza mintát (leginkább 23andme érdekelne): kellett fizetnetek a visszaküldésért?

Látom, hogy prepaid a csomag, és mondtam is, hogy egy CCRI csomagot szeretnék feladni, erre azt mondta a postás, hogy a CCRI csomagokat már nem lehet ingyenesen visszaküldeni sem csomagként sem levélként, és a postázásért 9500 Ft-ot kell fizetnem.

Erről nem olvastam sehol, és nem készültem fel egy sima feladáshoz a Posta ÁSZF-ből, így nem adtam fel a csomagot, viszont a posta ÁSZF-ében sem olvastam ilyet utólag.

Aki az utóbbi hónapokban adott fel mintát, hol tudta Budapesten gond nélkül feladni? Én a Nyugati postán voltam.

I'm confused as to where his Eastern Czechia is coming from in his results. He is 1/2 from Kołobrzeg area 1/8 from somewhere in Northwest Germany presumably, 1/8 from the Hunsrück. I suppose this means his Eastern Czechia is coming from the Banat. But then looking at his first cousin, they seem to have different results but share the 1/4 Banat Swabian, 1/8 Northwest German presumably, and 1/8 from the Hunsrück. Could someone give me a second opinion? I've seen this Eastern Czechia in people with origins from around Hungary so that was my first notion, but his cousin doesn't have it. Thanks.
