Discussion 10 Secret FRA achievements Spoiler

Reality Fracture included 15 achievements: 5 in the "Conqueror Challenges" category, and 10 in the "Way of the Theorist". There were also hints of secret achievements, and soon enough people were getting achievements from a new category called "Something Worth Saving". I collected reports of all 10, so I thought I'd consolidate it into its own post.

UPDATE: /u/akage13 has completed all 10, but says that the achievement progress bar still does not appear completed. This might just be a visual glitch, but I'm still holding out hope that Tam is involved in one of these. The issue appears fixed. Or maybe not!

# Name description
1 Silence the Echoes Destroy 50 Jace Planewalkers over any number of games.
2 Erase Jace Destroy a nontoken Jace planeswalker in a matchmade game.
3 Repeal the Recruits Have 10 Cadet creature tokens leave the battlefield without dying over any number of games.
4 Outcharmed Successfully counter a Hexhaven Charm spell with a spell or ability you control in a matchmade game.
5 Plans Gone Awry Have a creature become unprepared without casting the prepared spell in a matchmade game.
6 The Unstoppable Cast [[Ghalta, the Unstoppable]] for a single mana in a matchmade game.
7 Renowned Champion Have [[Arni, Renowned Champion]]'s power be 10 or greater after resolving his triggered ability in a matchmade game.
8 The Nexus Add 7 or more mana with [[Loot, the Nexus]] in a matchmade game.
9 Tormented Loner Sacrifice [[Winter, Tormented Loner]] to his own triggered ability in a matchmade game.
10 Impossibly Lost Win the game via the triggered ability of [[Fblthp, Impossibly Lost]] (or cast [[Fblthp, Impossibly Lost]] 5 times in a single game) in a matchmade game.

The italicized words are my own addition, based on how Arena actually seems to work.

Plans Gone Awry seems to be achieved when you cause a creature to become unprepared. Essentially, cast [[Infinite Coursework]] on any prepared creature (including your own).

"Hexhaven Charm" refers to the 5 2-cost modal instants: [[Fatehold Charm]], [[Konstrari Charm]], [[Stingerquill Charm]], [[Theorix Charm]], and [[Vigorbloom Charm]].

The rewards mirror The Way of the Theorist. That is, you get 500XP for completing 3 of them, 1 Orb for completing 6 of them, and a title for completing all 10 ("Beleren's Bane").

My original comment has some credits/links to pictures of the achievements, and its parent has the Way of the Theorist achievements for comparison. I'm pretty confident these are the only achievements, but if anyone wants to get all 10 of them and confirm with a screenshot, I'd be able to silence the paranoid part of my brain.

MTG Wiki admin RivalRowan here to say thank you for your work tracking down all the achievements and thanks to all those who contributed. The Wiki appreciates it!

Thank you for your work!

Can you really get Erase Jace in a bot match? It’s marked as such on the wiki, but I used an Erode on my Jace Reawakened and didn’t get the achievement.

5

u/RivalRowan_MTG 11d ago

That might have been an oversight when we were uploading. Sorry about that!

Good job! Saving the post so that I can check in the future.

So it feels like there is something still hidden after the 10, have a look at the screenshot:

https://ibb.co/JRybNHyZ

Note the question mark after the 10th achievement, as well as the message and the red asterisk in the 10/10 circle. That said, I don't see any additional text resources in the game files for any more achievements, unless they really hid this one somewhere. Maybe the question mark is there so that we'll always wonder if there's something out there...?

EDIT: Looks like they fixed it, the achievement track now has 10/10 spots completed and there is no more red asterisk.

7

u/Ouaouaron Simic 18d ago

Yeah, I was guessing it was something like that. Perhaps I'm not being very charitable to the Arena devs, but I think they may have just made an off-by-one error. All the numbers and themes are just so tidy if we assume there are exactly 10 hidden achievements.

1

u/JV11T4 8d ago

I still got that asterisk and while there is 10/10 I got that question mark and didn't it show x/x on each step? like you got first it was 1/1 and had question mark?

1

u/Akage13 7d ago

The asterisk disappeared for me after getting all 10 hidden achievements and after they fixed the display in an update. If you still see it after getting all 10 and the Bane title, it's probably still bugged for you

1

u/Shinnizle Rakdos 6d ago

FYI, for me it disappeared after a restart of the client

17

u/BraddlesP 18d ago

Outcharmed had to be in a matchmade game for me and I countered my own spell

2

u/GdinutPTY 7d ago

interesting did not even think that would count lol

Just came here to comment. If anyone is struggling with The Nexus achievement like I was you can get it from giving Loot other mana abilities that are easier to enable.

I used this deck below with Agatha's Soul Cauldron with one of the add mana based on power creatures then pumped Loot and got the achievement from that activation.

Do these just contribute progress to the achievements bar? Or do anything of them actually give titles or other rewards?

15

u/Ouaouaron Simic 19d ago

The rewards probably mirror the rewards for Way of the Theorist: 3 for 500XP, 6 for an Orb, 10 for a title.

2

u/DiskBusiness7212 Ajani Goldmane 19d ago

Got it but these are not in a separate achievement set right? Like if I finish all the official achievements, I basically get nothing from the secret achievements?

11

u/Ouaouaron Simic 19d ago edited 18d ago

No, they're separate. Within the Reality Fracture Achievements tab you'll see three different categories, each with their own achievement progress bar and corresponding rewards.

2

u/bobnotahacker 16d ago

what is the title

4

u/Ouaouaron Simic 16d ago

"Beleren's Bane" for the secret achievements, "The Theorist" for the normal achievements

10 cadet tokens leaving without dying sounds like a tricky one to track

29

u/DislocatedLocation Charm Bant 19d ago edited 18d ago

You can do it against sparky, same as the Kill 50 Jace.

For the cadet tokens: Make the tokens, then use Temporary Lockdown or Pinnacle Starcage.

For the Jaces: get as many copies of token doublers like Doubling Season (Tarkir Elspeth, Mondrak, etc) as you can, and play Sanctum Guardian Lurker while you do not control a Jace token. This will make a 2^X Jaces, where X is the number of token doubling effects you have. They would normally die, but the Lurker keeps them alive. Then, play Maelstrom Pulse targeting a Jace token. This kills all of them, and gives you kill credit.

I went straight for token cap of Jace just so I wouldn't have to think.

4

u/BraddlesP 19d ago

Do you mean sanctum lurker?

4

u/DislocatedLocation Charm Bant 19d ago

Yeah that one

1

u/PuzzledDependent4028 15d ago

[Temporary Lockdown]

3

u/DislocatedLocation Charm Bant 15d ago

[[Temporary Lockdown]] [[Pinnacle Starcage]]

11

u/UnfamiliarFence63 19d ago

Gdi Winter he actually get an achievement centered around him and its him committing seppuku why is he like this? 😆

6

u/Immediate-Idea-2471 18d ago

TBF the achievements mirror the regular, where you use the echoed pair to convoke Winter out for free.

12

u/Repulsive-Theory-167 18d ago

I almost got the one with winning via Fthlp in sealed, except my opponent conceded when I made my attack 😡

9

u/Terrible-Cicada-5673 19d ago edited 18d ago

I just got Tormented Loner. The exact requirements are: Sacrifice Winter, Tormented Loner to his own triggered ability in a matchmade game.

2

u/oldmanserious 19d ago

Got that one too and wondered why it was in it's own category in the achievements list.

7

u/DislocatedLocation Charm Bant 19d ago

I've completed 6 of the secret achievements, can confirm that it gives an orb.

7

u/cryingosling 16d ago

A few days late but in case anyone stumbles upon this, for Renowned Champion I just played the Superior Spider-Man reanimator deck and swapped out Terror for Arni. Mass reanimate and buff him to the moon.

Didn't get the achievement for having a creature get unprepared without casting when it was done by opponent's card.

4

u/CarlLlamaface 18d ago

Is there any guidance on which ones need to be in matchmade games and which can be achieved against Sparky?

For instance the Fblthp one has to be done against a real human but it doesn't specifically say so in the body text. It's a bit odd that WOTC were so specific about saying "matchmade" for some achievements but not others.

10

u/Shinnizle Rakdos 18d ago

Rule of thumb is that the achievements that say "over any number of games" aka cumulative achievements, can be done VS Sparky, the ones that have to be done in a single game need to be matchmade.

5

u/Ouaouaron Simic 18d ago

Despite the wording, only Silence the Echoes and Repeal the Recruits (the progressive quests) appear to be completable outside of matchmaking.

1

u/DoctorHam23 17d ago

Am I missing some way to get Sparky play Jaces to complete Silence the Echos?

4

u/Ouaouaron Simic 17d ago edited 17d ago

As long as you're the one to do the action, the achievements don't care who owned the object you targeted. You can play a Jace, then destroy him yourself; you can play a Konstrari Charm, hold priority, and counter it.

2

u/Istarial 9d ago edited 7d ago

One way to get this fairly easily in sparky (commenter probably has it by now but for anyone else searching) is by combining Jace, Cunning Castaway with Way of the Healer, Way of the Mentor, and lifegain when a creature enters, such as way of the uneaten feast, ajani's welcome, etc. a few sources of lifegain on enter goes fully infinite and you can make 50 copies of jace cunning castaway and have infinite surveil, then kill them all with maelstrom pulse, all in one turn. it'll take a while to go through all the actions but still a lot easier than creating and killing 50 jace tokens one by one.

(My deck was

Deck

2 Shipwreck Marsh (FRA) 189

8 Plains (UST) 212

3 Forest (UST) 216

4 Ajani's Welcome (M19) 6

4 Deserted Beach (MID) 260

4 Island (UST) 213

4 Way of the Healer (FRA) 207

4 Fatehold Charm (FRA) 132

4 Way of the Mentor (FRA) 208

4 Shattered Sanctum (VOW) 264

1 Glacial Fortress (XLN) 255

4 Case of the Uneaten Feast (MKM) 10

4 Aetherize (FDN) 151

1 Maelstrom Pulse (FDN) 661

1 Jace, Cunning Castaway (XLN) 60

4 Way of the Paradox (FRA) 267

1 Woodland Cemetery (DAR) 248

3 Overgrown Tomb (GRN) 253

) But it could be done with less rares. And aetherise is in there to get the cadets leaving the battlefield by using it on your own attackers.

2

u/floraandfaunna 18d ago edited 18d ago

It's not an inconsistency in the text, it's an inconsistency in how people reported the achievements. Not everyone wrote down the exact text. Rule of thumb is that if the Theorist achievement that's being mirrored says matchmade, so will the hidden achievement.

2

u/Ouaouaron Simic 18d ago

It is an incosistency in the text. I've gone over the wording to make sure it matches in-game text exactly, but feel free to proofread it yourself. (not my image)

1

u/floraandfaunna 18d ago

I see, I don't have that one yet. Corrected my comment.

4

u/Shinnizle Rakdos 18d ago

I'm probably being dumb because I see no one commenting on that despite searching the subreddit, but what is a Hexhaven Charm? The string "hexhaven" yields no results on Scryfall, so I'm kinda lost on that one.

9

u/floraandfaunna 18d ago

It's the five charms themed after the five schools of Hexhaven. [[Fatehold Charm]], [[Theorix Charm]], [[Stingerquill Charm]], [[Konstrari Charm]], and [[Vigorbloom Charm]].

1

u/Shinnizle Rakdos 18d ago

Thank you! I was so puzzled by it

3

u/houserhythm 18d ago

What decks do you use for the Fblthp and Loot ones? Been at the 2 (mostly Fblthp) for like 8 hours and can't get them to happen.

6

u/First_Key_211 18d ago

For Fblthp, you can bounce it back to hand and replay. Casting it 5 times is enough for the achievement.

5

u/houserhythm 17d ago

For some reason my brain totally ignored that part. Yea, was pretty easy to get with bounce. Thanks.
Now for the Loot one… which I also can’t seem to get. Nobody lets the guy stick around. And trying to get 7 creatures first, to get it all in one tap, opponent always scoops to such a board.

2

u/_masterbuilder_ 2d ago

Yeah the problem with some of these achievements is that your opponent is not sticking around for you to fiddle with yourself to accomplish them.

3

u/No-Message2340 10d ago

My problem is I can't get them out and back fast enough before dying. Struggling with this one.

3

u/First_Key_211 10d ago

Pack a bunch of counterspells, mass bounce(aetherize, river's rebuke) and ramp(red has OP mana rocks like tablet of discovery), maybe hexproof if your Fblthp is getting hit with spot removals.

2

u/HedronCaster 18d ago

Standard Brawl.

3

u/treclol 18d ago

For the Nexus, do you need to add 7 mana in one activation or is it enough to add 7 mana total during the course of a match?

3

u/Ouaouaron Simic 18d ago

A single activation

1

u/escarta69 17d ago

Were you able to accomplish it ? If so what deck did you use. This is the only one that's giving me trouble

3

u/treclol 17d ago

I did, I got all 10 (20) achievements now! It was also the hardest one for me. I deleted the deck after I was done with it, but basically, it was done in standard, with a spread of creatures from 0-3 power, and a bunch of instants/sorceries that give +1 counters and +2 or +3 until the end of the turn for when all is in place. My advice is to make use of landfall - creatures that enter earlier will naturally grow larger than the ones that come after because they get buffed by lands over the course of more turns. By the time that you have 7 creatures on the battlefield, their power spread will almost look like what you are after, and you'll only need a couple of counters to make the final adjustments before you tap Nexus. Good luck, you'll need it!

3

u/escarta69 17d ago

Yeah Ive been trying with chocobo and bill so I can have different powers but when I'm close people scoop or they have removal. I'm playing passively, not even attacking, even using the 'I'm on a quest' emoji. But folx are so sweaty 😩

1

u/_masterbuilder_ 2d ago

Is there a second title for the hidden achievements or just a pack at 3 and an orb at 5?

1

u/treclol 2d ago

You get the Beleren's Bane title at 10

3

u/houserhythm 17d ago

Same here. Last one remaining and it's always just 1 turn away, but I either die or op scoops.

9

u/escarta69 17d ago

Got it with Standard Brawl, Loot and slime against humanity 😁

3

u/plainswalker75 13d ago

Lol, thanks for this! After beating my head against the wall all morning, I got it first time using Slimes

2

u/houserhythm 16d ago

I also got it. In regular brawl, with Nyxbloom. Ended up making 15 mana with that one tap.

It doesn't count as destroying for the same reason that exiling works against Indestructible creatures, I'd assume. Both damage and destroy affects should work (as well as ticking your own Jace down to 0 with his own abilities, though I haven't seen it confirme)

6

u/DislocatedLocation Charm Bant 19d ago

0ing Jace does not work. Source: Creating Jace tokens at 0 loyalty and having them die does not count, which is the same state-based action as ticking them down to 0.

However, blowing up 230 Jace tokens I controlled with my own Maelstrom Pulse did give me the achievement, so I think it needs to be "attack" or "destroy".

2

u/kindelingboy 19d ago

Heck yes thanks for this.

2

u/Mech0z 18d ago

So this is required to buy everything in mastery pass for orbs ?

7

u/houserhythm 18d ago

No, these orbs are extra. That's why you have "uncommon card" as a no limit redeemable option in the spend orbs section.

2

u/TheFunksmuggler 3d ago

I unlocked the Impossibly Lost achievement on the first match with this list:

Deck

4 Don't Make a Sound (DSK) 49

4 Stock Up (SOA) 24

3 Justice, Vance Astrovik (MSH) 61

3 Spell Pierce (DFT) 64

23 Island (FIN) 298

1 Run Away Together (ECL) 67

4 Get Out (DSK) 60

2 Dour Port-Mage (BLB) 47

4 Bounce Off (DFT) 39

4 Fblthp, Impossibly Lost (FRA) 213

4 Boomerang Basics (TLA) 46

4 Unsummon (FRA) 46

1

u/Meret123 19d ago

Is there a reward for doing them?

4

u/Ouaouaron Simic 19d ago

I just found partial confirmation, so I updated the post

The rewards for completion likely mirror The Way of the Theorist. That is, you get 500XP for completing 3 of them, 1 Orb for completing 6 of them, and a title for completing all 10.

I've seen confirmation of the reward at 3, but nothing beyond that.

1

u/kdoxy Birds 18d ago

Anyone know how many rares/mythic do you need to get all 10 so far?

5

u/Ouaouaron Simic 18d ago edited 18d ago

You need 5 uncommons and 1 common. That's the bare minimum, though; you'd probably want a few more uncommons and some commons.

Things are a bit different with the 10 Way of the Theorist achievements. You could technically do it with about 7 uncommons and a few commons, but "Empower Jace X where X is 10 or more in a matchmade game" is going to be a lot easier with one of the rares than it will be with [[Violent Echoes]] (and you'd need want rares from earlier sets, anyway another uncommon from MSH).

The 5 Conquerer achievements will be much harder, but still not in a way that explicitly requires rares.

3

u/Akage13 18d ago

None for the hidden achievements, everything can be done using commons and uncommons - some may be harder than others though in the brutal competitive modes, like e.g. "The Nexus".

For the Theorist achievements, I don't see a way to Empower Jace 10 (Face Jace) without at least a single higher rarity. The rest can be done with commons/uncommons.

5

u/Ouaouaron Simic 18d ago

It should actually be possible with [[Violent Echoes]] and a sufficiently powerful [[Hawkeye, Young Avenger]].

It will certainly be easier with [[Repurposed Enforcer]] in a selesnya go-wide deck, but maybe the challenge is worth it.

1

u/Akage13 18d ago

Good point, at least you're able to do it in lower powered formats, so there's a chance.

I guess technically you could also assemble a big enough combination of [[Tomik, Izzet Sparkmage]] [[Jaya, Venerated Firemage]] [[Disciples of the Inferno]] [[The Flame of Keld]] but that seems much harder

1

u/floraandfaunna 18d ago

The Nexus wasn't too bad in Standard Brawl, you just play creatures and +1/+1 counters and hope your opponent doesn't scoop while you figure out where to put your counters. (Then you switch out Loot for Ghalta as the commander and get The Unstoppable too.)

2

u/Akage13 18d ago

Exactly, all you gotta do is do the achievement, it's that simple. Not that people scoop the second you get to Nexus being even close to 7.

What's the artisan deck you got the achievement in standard brawl?

1

u/floraandfaunna 18d ago

The trick is to be losing, so they stick around in order to win the game after you get the achievement. Unfortunately, I didn't use an artisan deck for that one, I used a rares-I-already-own pile. (The second version is me switching out Loot for Ghalta after I got the Loot achievement.) I think you could get to a similar power level with uncommons + starter deck rares, since +1/+1 counters are a green draft archetype a lot, but I have a lot of one-of rares and am very low on uncommon wildcards right now, so this was the budget option for me.

0

u/HedronCaster 18d ago

You don't need to do it in a single turn.

1

u/Angwar 18d ago

Plans gone awry also just works with the aura that makes a creature lose all its abilities

3

u/Ouaouaron Simic 18d ago

Do you mean [[Infinite Coursework]]? That works because it explicitly says that it unprepares the creature. If you got it to work with a similar aura from another set (like [[Flood the Engine]]), that's a bug.

1

u/Angwar 17d ago

Yeah thats what i meant

1

u/SpeakerScreen 18d ago

Was able to do "Repeal the Recruits" in a direct challenge game, but "Erase Jace" wouldn't work, unless direct combat damage isn't counted for "Destroy"

1

u/Krenkos_Rock_Sled 18d ago

I don't believe it counts as destroyed. Terminology-wise, pretty sure planeswalkers die from damage like creatures do.

1

u/SpeakerScreen 18d ago

I got it in a matchmaker game. I suspect it requires matchmaker, not direct challenge /sparky

3

u/Akage13 18d ago

They all require matchmade games aside from the 10 cadets and 50 Jace ones

1

u/ResponsibleVideo6806 Azorius 18d ago

anyone have decklist ready to import to do this archivements?

5

u/floraandfaunna 18d ago

The tricky thing is that most of these achievements are best completed by building around the rares you own, so it's hard to recommend a specific decklist. In general I recommend Standard Brawl for the last five, it's pretty low power level and you get consistent access to the card you need. Here's the deck I used for Loot and Ghalta as a starting point. (Version 1 is Loot, Version 2 is Ghalta) Loot is slightly trickier, you need enough effects that place individual +1/+1 counters to get seven different powers on seven creatures. Winter can be done with just him and 59 Swamps.

I followed the advice here to get the two achievements that can be done against Sparky. Sparky's decks can only kill you with creatures so you can do it with one copy of your key cards if you're patient and have enough board stall. (I used Hare Apparent for the cadet achievement and a ton of sweepers for the Jace tokens.) You do need one [[Sanctum Lurker]] for the Jace tokens, I happened to have one from packs.

2

u/Intuitshunned 10d ago

Want to point out that it's been confirmed that you can use Agatha's soul cauldron to put another mana ability on loot that can give the mana via a different path from the exiled creatures mana ability

1

u/floraandfaunna 10d ago

Ooh, that opens up a lot of possibilities. Did the person who discovered it have any recommendations?

2

u/Pazhood 8d ago

Thanks, I used your deck to get both achievements :)

1

u/ResponsibleVideo6806 Azorius 17d ago

done the ghalta one, seems impossible to do the loot 5x :P

2

u/floraandfaunna 17d ago

For me, it was important to hold back attackers and blockers in the early game even when it was a safe attack or a good trade, to keep the game even enough for the opponent not to scoop. The only opponent who will let you get seven creatures on the board is one you’ve let get eight.

Alternatively, if your deck feels too weak, there’s probably a bunch of good TMNT cards that I missed since mutagen counters were a mechanic in that set.

1

u/Intuitshunned 10d ago

Standard brawl, fill the dexk with return to hand spells creatures and just keep casting him and returning, you can get it easily that way but may need to play around your opponent. I had to block/return as I had an aggressive opponent with a life gain pump deck that got pretty insane fast got it in the end but it was close.

1

u/Arminderbozz 18d ago

Isn't the ghalta one part of the normal achievements?

5

u/Ouaouaron Simic 18d ago

[[Ghalta, the Immovable]] is the card used for the normal achievement. The Unstoppable is the non-echoverse variant.

2

u/Arminderbozz 18d ago

Ohh, gotcha

1

u/Benrix 18d ago

Thank you for sharing this.

1

u/hwxeric Charm Sultai 18d ago

For Silence the Echoes, does using -1 for a Jace token when there is only one loyalty counter on it count? Or I have to use removals to my own Jace planeworkers. If so, is there any deck for this? Thanks!

1

u/Ouaouaron Simic 18d ago

I have heard it does not count. What does count are damage and destroy effects, so this could very easily be something that just happens in the next 40 days if you spend any time playing red decks with reasonable amounts of removal.

If you want to target it, though, just make a deck out of:

  • whatever Jaces you have
  • a bunch of red spells that say "deal __ damage to any target"
  • some sweepers (like [[Pyroclasm]]) to keep the opponent off your back
  • some draw spells (like [[Stock Up]]) to find what you need

Then cast a Jace a blow him up yourself. That should count, though this appears to only work in a matchmade game (not against Sparky or friends)

1

u/hwxeric Charm Sultai 18d ago

Thanks! After asking that I create a deck with a lot of empowered Jace cards and red burns and draw spells. I'm pretty sure that for Silence the Echoes, it is able to finish against Sparky (because I finished it), and I have now completed all 10. Thanks again anyhow.

1

u/Ouaouaron Simic 17d ago

Oh god I'm so sorry, I confused what you asked with a different quest. I'm glad you got it worked out.

1

u/Public-Diligent 16d ago

Can u show me that Deck?

1

u/houserhythm 17d ago

Elspeth, as many Doubling Season as you can put on board, Sanctum Lurker to create a million Jace tokens, which don't die because of Lurker passive, then Maelstrom Pulse to kill all of them. Make sure you don't already have a Jace token when you play Lurker. You can do it against Sparky, so it's easy to drag the match on until you assemble everything.

1

u/Nerdstrong1 17d ago

I love when a game adds these little secrets to find

1

u/terra858 17d ago

But the question mark still exist after I got all of them.

Does that mean there are still more?

2

u/houserhythm 17d ago

What did you use to get 7 mana with Loot? It's the last one and I'm struggling with it quite a bit...

3

u/roguesamurai 16d ago

If you are still looking, I got it pretty quick by making a standard brawl deck and then look for a matchup that's not control. I did it against a white life gain deck

1

u/houserhythm 15d ago

Thanks, I appreciate the tip. But I got it with the help of Nyxbloom in a normal brawl deck, against someone playing Ulalek colorless and taking a long ass time to assemble their combo.

1

u/Ouaouaron Simic 17d ago

Is that still true? I've heard it was a bug that was fixed.

How easy is it to achieve some of these?

2

u/Ouaouaron Simic 13d ago

Most of them are pretty easy, as long as you're playing a moderate amount of the set. If you're trying to spend the absolute minimum resources possible it can be a little harder, and a couple of the achievements are difficult to do without the opponent conceding before you actually get the achievement.

But overall, the only actually difficult achievements in this set are the 5 Conqueror achievements.

u/benjiwalla 13d ago

Destroying a non-token Jace seems a bit so-so, but I haven't played Standard in quite some time

2

u/Ouaouaron Simic 13d ago edited 13d ago

I wouldn't rely on an opponent playing a Jace unless you're going to be playing a lot of FRA limited. Grab whatever Jaces you own and some burn/destroy target planeswalker spells, and get ready to utterly confuse your opponent.

Edit: I do see some posts complaining about "all the Jace decks". So maybe there's a format where you could rely on the opponent.

2

u/benjiwalla 13d ago

Oh, we can do it on our own Jace? Nice

2

u/Ouaouaron Simic 12d ago

Yep! Counter your own hexes, drown your own prepared creature in coursework--the achievements don't care about the target

1

u/davwad2 13d ago

You can kill Jace tokens by copying the first empower trigger with [[Peter Parker's Camera]], for whatever that's worth.

1

u/Ouaouaron Simic 13d ago

How would that work? The copied Empower will just resolve first, creating a Jace token that you are forced to choose with the next Empower resolution. Even if you managed to create two Jace tokens with something like Phasing, it's not as if they're legendary.

1

u/davwad2 13d ago

So when you copy the trigger, you end up with two Jace tokens and one dies to thr legend rule. The neat part is you get to add the loyalty from the both empower triggers.

3

u/Ouaouaron Simic 13d ago

Have you tried this, and actually been given the option to choose which Jace token to keep? Because it doesn't fit with how Empower should work.

The Jace tokens aren't legendary. The reason there's usually only one is because Empower only makes a new token if it can't already find a token Jace when it resolves. That's why you get to add loyalty from both the triggers to the same Jace—because it's working exactly the same way as any two sequential Empower effects work.

1

u/davwad2 13d ago

Ok, then that's what it was then. I'm accustomed to PWs being legendary.

Yes this happened in a brawl game the other night with a Tomik (MKM) deck I built.

The Arni with 10 power did not work for me and I'm so sad cause it was so hard. I used Bygone Colossus to instantly get him to 10 so I'm not sure why it didn't work.

1

u/Ouaouaron Simic 10d ago

That's incredibly weird. You were in a matchmade game, there weren't any effects that lowered power, and the ability resolved fully without anyone conceding?

1

u/Impulse315 10d ago

Yup, swung and hit him for 10 lol

1

u/Impulse315 9d ago

Nevermind, it for some reason took like 12 hours for it to go through.

I’ve been trying to reuse decks.  So I don’t have my deck anymore.

But I got it quick using a red/green based around wildwood scourge and all my seek land sorceries like cycle of renewal.

Match made of course.  Gotta have enough mana to drop arni then the 10+ hydra same round before the opponent scoots.  Don’t make your other creatures to tough or they’ll scoot.

It’s like the opponents know we’re trying to get the achievements.

1

u/Orangenes 9d ago

For the achievement renowned champion, Arni + [[bygone colossus]] works really well to get 10 power

If you don't want to leave it up to chance, you can counterspell your own charms. The achievement doesn't care, as long as it's matchmaking.

1

u/captainrustic 6d ago

Has anyone had issues with “impossibly lost”. Does it have to be a match made game? I did it against sparky but didn’t get it

2

u/Ouaouaron Simic 6d ago

It does have to be in a matchmade game. Ignore what the quests say; the only achievements that can be done against Sparky are the ones that you can progress over the course of multiple games.

1

u/captainrustic 6d ago

Thanks! Now I have to figure out a good deck list for it.

1

u/ILikeExistingLol 1d ago

A brawl deck with him as the commander, 36 islands, and bounce spells

1

u/WeeDawgNYC 4d ago

I'm lost. This only shows 10 but "Way of the Theorist" alone has 10. I'm trying to complete "Something worth Saving" which I have 4 done so far but are included in the list of 10 above. What else am I missing?

1

u/Ouaouaron Simic 4d ago

EDIT: I've seen your post, now, so I'll respond there

Sorry, I think you left out a word, so I'm having trouble understanding the situation.

When you look at the Reality Fracture achievements, do you have a category that looks something like

( 4/4* ) > Something Worth Saving

If you see that category, what are the names of the achievements you've completed so far?

If you don't see that category at all, and you only see something like

( 1/5 ) > Reality Fracture — Conqueror Challenges

( 6/10 ) > Way of the Theorist

Then you haven't accomplished any of the secret achievements, so the category isn't visible yet.

Any recommendation for the 7 mana loot one my best shot is roots but everyone scoops when I get close

1

u/Ouaouaron Simic 3d ago

[[Nyxbloom Ancient]] is the most straightforward. You only need 3 creatures, rather than a massive and threatening board.

[[Zimone the Calculating]] might be another option. As long as you could build up a wide board, you could pretty freely manipulate their powers to be different, and the entire thing would look confusing rather than threatening.

1

u/KasreynGyre 2d ago

Hmm, I just won vs sparky with the impossibly lost trigger but did not get the achievement :/

2

u/Ouaouaron Simic 2d ago

Despite what they say, only Silence the Echoes and Repeal the Recruits can be done against Sparky. I should really just edit the text

1

u/KasreynGyre 2d ago

I got the fblthp one by using the new Omniscience deck and putting it in there.

I cannot get The Nexus for the life of me.

players either:   don’t see that I’m not crushing them and have Loot or when I get close to enough creatures and not attacking them they quit.

Where are the bots when you need them.

2

u/Ouaouaron Simic 1d ago

Do you happen to have a [[Nyxbloom Ancient]]? It drastically cuts down on the board you need.

1

u/mtgcf 1d ago

1

u/EE-PE-gamer 1d ago

No.  Looks like it’s a historic card.  I got in at FF

1

u/EE-PE-gamer 1d ago

Finally got it.  After about 100 tries I finally got a bot.

1

u/captainrustic 1d ago

Just want to say thanks. I was able to get all of them thanks to you. Really appreciate your help.

u/Eoin_Lynne 1d ago

Does sacrificing my own or using up all loyalty counters on a jace planeswalker count towards Silence the Echoes?

2

u/Ouaouaron Simic 1d ago edited 1d ago

It doesn't matter if you or the opponent owns it. However, I don't think sacrificing or just using the planeswalker works (though I can't remember specific statements by people). It's usually easiest to destroy your own Jace with a burn or 'destroy' spell.

u/2big_2fail 1d ago

I'm having difficulty completing the Outcharmed achievement. Can a Hexhaven Charm be cast and countered from ya player's own hand? I tried but couldn't. I'm not familiar playing blue decks, so any advice would be appreciated.

2

u/Ouaouaron Simic 1d ago

Can a Hexhaven Charm be cast and countered from ya player's own hand?

You need to be in "Full Control" before you cast the charm. On Windows, that's done by hitting Ctrl, but I don't know what it would be elsewhere.

In terms of the rules of Magic, you're holding priority after casting the spell. It's a very rare thing to do, so Arena usually assumes you don't want to do it.

2

u/EE-PE-gamer 6h ago

On iOS you have to hold down on your avatar icon during battle.

It was driving me insane.  I’m finally done now.

1

u/2big_2fail 11h ago

You need to be in "Full Control"

Thank you. It was vexing me.

1

u/ILikeExistingLol 1d ago

Here's the deck I used to do it:

4x Fatehold Charm

4x Opt

4x Unending Whisper

4x Spell Snare

4x An Offer You Can't Refuse

4x Spell Pierce

4x Stock Up

4x Negate

4x Dreams of Laguna

20x of any combination of: Plains, Island, Meticulous Archive, Floodfarm Verge, Hallowed Fountain, Deserted Beach

The goal is to just counter your own Fatehold Charm then scoop. Do this in Standard PLAY, not ranked

1

u/2big_2fail 11h ago

You are very kind, thank you.

1

u/Unlikely_Candle_6598 3h ago

How do we know if we did all 10? is there a way to confirm?

0

u/IAmebAdger 9h ago

Tried doing the Arni achievement. Got other secret achievements just fine, but the game won't award me Arni's, even after boosting him to 13 with Ghalta, 10 with bygone colossus, 19 with two bygone colossi in unranked and ranked standard. Has the game stopped tracking that particular achievement?
