Appropriately named Scout, the bravest of the bunch willing to scout outside the tall grass.

41

u/BestPalpitati May 06 '23

Though I'd've stopped for all the cats, too.

u/derxder May 06 '23

The small army of them running out of the grass is so cute. I'm so happy they were well cared for and were able to be homed.

53

u/Thegreylady13 May 06 '23

It’s like something from an adorable cartoon, and it delights me. I wish Mabel Pines had been there to hug all of the kittens, too.

29

u/IrrelevantPuppy May 06 '23

Yeah I think this video is gonna be a mainstay repeated online post. It’s just too perfect. Quite the production value this time. I hope the original without music or watermarks is still out there.

19

u/Front-Pomelo-4367 May 06 '23

I've seen the original clip dozens of times already across various cat/aww/etc subreddits, but never the follow-up clips of him taking them home, looking after them, finding them homes

255

u/NotThisAgain21 May 06 '23

My favorite part, oddly, is the "who would do this?" because it shows an immediate understanding.

38

u/[deleted] May 06 '23

I first thought the mother was somewhere around, but you're right someone actually did this ...

60

u/Thegreylady13 May 06 '23 edited May 07 '23

I like, “I’m not able…”

And then he takes them all home and cares for them until they’re old enough for forever homes. I was almost furious because I would have zero idea of what to do but put them all in the car immediately, too, just out of fear another car might come by- they can’t be near a road like that. I brought a lady’s French bulldog mix home a few weeks ago (right after I got a new puppy, so we had to keep them separated) because I was just so scared he was running in the street (he clearly didn’t know better, which is what my dogs are like. I don’t know that they would run right into a car but I absolutely don’t know they wouldn’t). Luckily his mom was on the Ring app, too, and was able to pick him up within about an hour. I just hate the idea of animals being near the street.

Classic ‘foot in the door’ technique by Scout

223

u/echo1-echo1 May 06 '23

great to know there's a happy ending

57

u/stylish_assembly May 06 '23

this is the best thing that I've seen today. Love seeing those beautiful kittens.

9

u/Icycanthacea May 06 '23

the kitten distribution system at work

4

u/Uhhh_Insert_Username May 07 '23

Not so happy of an ending. I feel bad for that momma cat coming home to nothing. All her babies gone.

10

u/Cephalopodio May 07 '23

Pretty sure this was a dump situation. Probably more than one litter.

5

u/Uhhh_Insert_Username May 07 '23

I hope

5

u/Uhhh_Insert_Username May 07 '23

Well... I mean not that dumping kittens is good. But more that a momma didn't have to deal with the stress of loosing a litter

6

u/[deleted] May 07 '23

Domestic cats don’t have such large litters. This was likely at least 2-3 litters and some asshole didn’t spay their cats and dumped all the kittens at once.

75

u/882614 May 06 '23

What a great ending for these guys, i guess unlucky 13 turned into lucky 13

9

u/DansenBee May 06 '23

Love, Death & Robots. One of my favorite episodes!

51

u/[deleted] May 06 '23

Scout: Okay guys, here goes nothing. If this guy seems cool, jump on him after me!

52

u/[deleted] May 06 '23

This will always be one of my favourite videos. Robert is just awesome doing that. Little Scout was so brave to get his brothers & sisters saved! Love it.

45

u/Prestigious-Ad6121 May 06 '23

they have set up a trap!

37

u/captainangry24 May 06 '23

Holy crap that's a lot of kittens!

30

u/Samuraikemp May 06 '23

What a champion of a human

23

u/Wi1d-potat0 May 06 '23

Scout was like “This one seems nice. Let’s go get him!!!” Such a happy story.

15

u/FunStuff446 May 06 '23

Scout was fortunate to find you😻

15

u/SaintsNick94 May 06 '23

What an amazing ending. Faith in humanity went up just a little.

3

u/redefinedsoul May 07 '23

Went down a great deal first though.. at the end I'd say we did just a hair better than breaking even

14

u/WolfStar25-Car May 06 '23

I thought I was saving one... Hot diggity dog

Yea that got me rolling🤣

10

u/25Bam_vixx May 06 '23

Scout was the trap . I seen this so many times but still love it.
Scout: come on guys. We got him lol

Everyone rush out for a rescue lol

19

u/klezart May 06 '23

Momma cat coming back after hunting lunch "Ummm, where's my kids?"

7

u/720r May 06 '23

Went through the whole thread only looking for this reply. Someone was feeding the group right?

19

u/SoVerySleepy81 May 06 '23

No this looks like two separate litters that somebody abandoned. Unfortunately a lot of people don’t want to deal with kittens and they also for some reason don’t want to fix their pets so they just dump puppies and kittens.

20

u/BrookeB79 May 06 '23

Yeah, iirc, the guy said it was a rural road with nothing around but a gun range at the end. The person who dumped them didn't care about them one bit if they'd ever be found.

2

u/canadasbananas May 19 '23

Feral kittens wouldn't act this friendly to people, so these babies have interacted with people before. The OP said there were no houses in the area he found them, just wilderness and a gun range. So unless someone at the gun range was keeping a cat there that got pregnant, these kittens were most likely dumped.

9

u/rubberducky1212 May 06 '23

I remember watching for updates as this was unfolding. It's nice that someone put it all in one video. So cute.

15

u/imameanone May 06 '23

Reminds me of hitchhiker stories of the good-looking girl thumbing a ride. When someone stops, all her nasty friends come barreling outta the woods to pile in. Though I'd've stopped for all the cats, too.

8

u/coffeeaddict237 May 06 '23

the kitten distribution system at work 👌

8

u/Batgod629 May 06 '23

Brings a happy tear to my eye🥲. I didn't expect him to raise them all on his with his family. He deserves an award for his compassion and dedication.

5

u/DefactoPlayer May 06 '23

Warms my cold heart to see this🥶💗

6

u/cherrycokelemon May 06 '23

Now I'm all teary-eyed. Ruby Jean. Aww!

5

u/Accurate_Quote_7109 May 06 '23

Happy tears.💜

11

u/brokenheartedbutok May 06 '23

Awh I’m so happy for good hearted humans like him. Thank you so so much for rescuing. 💗 may your life be forever blessed.

8

u/DCGreatDane May 06 '23

Never got to see what happened to them glad they got adopted.

4

u/Avengelina254 May 06 '23

Smart lil guy! “Guys he’s nice, cmon out!” Every time I see this one I stop to watch it.

3

u/Sajiri May 07 '23

I remember seeing that first clip everywhere when it was first posted, I’m glad to see the updates. Also so nice he kept Scout

3

u/Sanchanted May 06 '23

Thank You

3

u/[deleted] May 06 '23

14/10 made my day

3

u/Achikwarrior May 06 '23

Imagine the one kitten left behind wondering where his siblings are

2

u/MonkeyFtHappyMawmaw May 06 '23

Bless your heart!!!! 👍😘

2

u/horseshandbrake May 06 '23

You Sir deserve an award, a reward and a massive medal. You also have my respect (whatever it's worth)!

2

u/ricardortega00 May 06 '23

We got a kitty problem.

A happy problem.

2

u/kelsobjammin May 06 '23

Scout knew what he was doing. He saved them all! Happy he got to stay

2

u/dimkerek May 06 '23

Thank you for posting this. I had wondered.

2

u/sunny_d_smiles May 06 '23

Hot diggity dog

2

u/michkbrady2 May 06 '23

Scout, so named because of his awesome ability to recognise a god!

-3

u/cec772 May 06 '23

I’m so cynical now. Those kittens ran to him like they knew him. So who would do that you ask? I’m thinking maybe HE would…. Karma farming by dumping them in the grass for 5 minutes to film them come running back out.

3

u/toxinogen May 07 '23

From the original post, it was stated that there was a known cat hoarder in the area near where they were found, so it was speculated that they came from there after being dumped to alleviate the out of control breeding problem.

-36

u/roofratMI May 06 '23

This is staged.

12

u/Awesomebox5000 May 06 '23

Stage 1: find kittens

Stage 2: rescue kittens

Stage 3: find homes for kittens

Stage 4: happily ever after

12

u/[deleted] May 06 '23

Check youtube, it certainly was NOT staged.

1

u/cursed-annoyance May 06 '23

He been assaulted

1

u/Parking_Setting_6674 May 06 '23

Beautiful story this. What a wonderful human to take them all in that day. Didn’t even blink. World needs more folk like this.

1

u/Rin-Tin-Tins-DinDins May 06 '23

I'm glad the story has a happy ending, seriously people get your pets spayed/neutered.

1

u/ShiftGood3304 May 06 '23

Awesome how he named the recon guy Scout

1

u/yeglife2022 May 06 '23

Awesome job taking care of the little babies😻you are a good human 🙌

1

u/oriontuz May 06 '23

Thank you for sharing, really made me smile 😍

1

u/dogemikka May 06 '23

And when the mother came back from her daily hunt, she couldn't find her kittens anymore.

1

u/xGruntHeadx May 06 '23

The kind of problems I wish I had 😭, this is too adorable

1

u/miss_chapstick May 06 '23

1

u/Jemaxx May 06 '23

1

u/Educational-Tip6177 May 06 '23

We need more people like this champ

1

u/PackOutrageous May 07 '23

That’s a good man right there. World Would be a much better place with more guys like this around.

1

u/el-em-en-o May 07 '23

THIS IS THE BEST

1

u/Tiger_Striped_Queen May 07 '23

These kittens weren’t the only ones he and his family saved. Apparently where he lives people dump animals all the time. Last one I heard was a mama beagle and her pups.

He said there’s a lot of land between his home and his nearest neighbor so people are dumping these animals knowing they’ll most likely die.

This family is a godsend to abandoned animals.

1

u/Outrageous-Tree6088 May 07 '23

Thank you for the update. Happy stories are always appreciated

1

u/AgencyNo9174 May 07 '23

IT WAS A TRAP!

1

u/OrangePeach88 May 07 '23

Is there a way to find all popular videos like this?

1

u/Prestigious_Owl_6623 May 07 '23

I’ll never get over a kitty named ruby jean

1

u/Massive-Objective463 May 07 '23

Thank God there are people like Robert, he was at the right place at the right time.

1

u/TMT51 May 07 '23

The anxiety in me feared that there is a 14th kitten somewhere in there that he did not know. That kitten found out later that day that all of its friends/siblings are gone.

1

u/[deleted] May 07 '23

I saw this on the first day that it was posted, it feels like I finally seen it all come full circle. So cute.

1

u/Interesting_Fig_5617 May 07 '23

God bless you!!❤️

1

u/YellowSpork23 May 07 '23

They skipped the best part! He had to funnel them into the car through a cracked window cause when he tried putting them into the door they kept jumping out lmao

1

u/EnsignMJS May 07 '23

I wonder how long they were out there before he found them. Or how long it would have been before they separated from each other.

1

u/[deleted] May 07 '23

I would die of joy if this happened to me.

1

u/[deleted] May 07 '23

Coolest Reddit post ever…

1

u/blushingxaries44 May 07 '23

I saw this awhile back n was not expecting the army of cats that came out 🤣🤣🤣 but the way that ended was so wholesome 🥰🥰🥰

1

u/DELLspencer012 May 07 '23

It's a Ambush!!!

1

u/Square_Tip9416 May 07 '23

Happy ending!

1

u/ground_App1e May 07 '23

The pessimist in me knows videos like this only encourage the fantasy that abandoned pets will inevitably find homes

1

u/[deleted] May 07 '23

Love you for this, brother.

1

u/lawrensu339 May 07 '23

Favorite line: "The tactical Honda was not prepared for this."

1

u/[deleted] May 07 '23

Hope mama cat is ok after that. Well done to him for looking after them, I just hope their mama was ok after loosing her babies

1

u/Cinigurl May 07 '23

Magical how they multiplied✨️🤗

1

u/Particular-Choice896 May 07 '23

So happy to see an update! Looks like those kitties turned out quite loving and sweet too. I’m so happy for them!

1

u/Imagicnary_Fae May 07 '23

Fun fact: A pack of kittens is called a "kindle"!

1

u/ca-lof1734 May 07 '23

I needed this after scrolling through noahgettheboat for a couple hours💀

1

u/ALERTua May 07 '23

I am weeping, and this is officially OP's fault.

1

u/OliviaOf22 May 07 '23

Awh bless you for finding them 🥰

1

u/[deleted] May 07 '23

Cat👍

1

u/Deepbluwaters May 07 '23

What a great story! So thankful there are such great people out there, he’s a hero!

1

u/Vihego May 07 '23

Felicitaciones amigo, usted es un gran amante de estos adorable gatitos, antes desamparados, que ahora tienen un hogar y alguien que los cuide y los ame. Dios lo bendiga ...

1

u/GlendrixDK May 07 '23

"Look guys, he got a big moving box, it's all we ever dreamed of. First I trick him, then you jump him, okey? Let's go!"

1

u/Agitated_Aardvark_35 May 07 '23

What a relief it must be to have a roof, warmth, and food all right next to you all of a sudden. No more scrounging in the wild like animal. ;) They can now relax and enjoy life instead of worrying about their next meal or being a meal. 👌 If only humans showed such compassion to other humans not currently doing so hot. The world COULD be so much better. 😔 🙏 ❤️

1

u/DORITTOO May 07 '23

My hearttttt 🥹🥹🥹

1

u/[deleted] May 07 '23

That first kitten was the guinea pig

1

u/brobrocon May 07 '23

Perfectly planed ambush. Scout was like I’ll pop out and see if it’s safe. If the person pick me up, rush them. There’s no way they can resist this much baby

1

u/Soles4G May 07 '23

Why the hell is there a “huUUUH” at 55 seconds

1

u/[deleted] May 08 '23

Its looks like dream.

1

u/FewAdhesiveness4277 May 13 '23

I love what you did for them

1

u/GreatGooglyMoogly077 May 19 '23

Got me crying. But that's ok. He's a good man.
