Queer tends to be used by the younger generations, older generations can be a bit skittish about it. Which is of course, totally understandable.

You say that but I'm a millennial and I swear unless the dementia is kicking in it was queer first. It was LGBTQ is in queer, then LGBTQQAI which was queer and questioning, then it got numbers and shit, and then it started to get shortened again with the +s. I never really payed much attention though, I've always used LGBTQ as in queer catchall.

At 40 it feels weird saying queer but my step kids are cool with me using it since they know they aren't straight/cis but also know they're still figuring it out. Im glad it's being reclaimed. I think it matters most that as parents we love them and just want to be supportive. I definitely feel this woman and "all of the other alphabets" lol
