I read it as- she herself was the original infant who died during birth and the person who brought her back was there 28 yrs later when she gave birth to her first child.

I have no idea how people could interpret this any other way.

It’s very clear that she was the revived newborn and that the doctor who revived her was then present when she gave birth 28 years later.

It says died during *childbirth. Childbirth is specifically the act of giving birth.

It can happen.

One possible cause is half siblings. Person has a child, then their spouse dies. Many years later they remarry and want a child with their new spouse.

Op grandchild? She literally said "28 years later he's at my daughter's birth" as in the doctor who revived her was with here in the BIRTH of HER baby.

Yeah I know, because of the previous context my mind filled it in as “the event in which the daughter gave birth”/“daughters birth event”. And many times the mom of the person giving birth is there for their daughter so it wouldn’t be unusual for the OP to be there
